Under Arrest California Known as the Golden State for a reason, the colorful expanse of the California skyline stretches out before you, extending for miles in all directions. Off to the west, the calm blue of the Pacific Ocean extends out beyond the horizon, while suburban buildings within small towns mingle with the tall skyscrapers of the large cities dotting the landscape. The immense super-structures of San Angeles are visible from even space, taking up almost the entirety of California. One is left to wonder why California continues to exist as a state, when it is, in all actuality, covered almost entirely by San Angeles.
Liese Schreiner [MH] Camera [Chest] "Around 4 tons or more," Rigger responds while tilting her own head back to peer up at the replica Goliath. Her gaze sweeps over it scrutinizingly to check details and the like. "At least that's around what it should be if it's entirely to scale and made of the same materials as the actual Goliath. They probably cut a few corners though, at least I'd hope they would. I sincerely doubt Cossack would give out the actual blueprints for the Goliath again." Chest shakes his head before he gets to Aqua Man's section - best just leave that one alone and backs up. Camera beeps at Chest and follows the GNN Manager down the hallways. By chance, he enters the Ride Armour section. "Pretty impressive stuff here." he mutters to his minicam companion. Ah, others enjoying the museum. That's good to see. "Ladies." Chest says in greeting as he hovers up to them and looks at the mock Goliath model. He idly considers how a documentary on Maverick warmachines would be received by the public. Something to look into later. Oh, hey, it's something kind of distinctive from afar - namely, a towering beetle-like reploid! Since cats and other assorted mammals seem to be standard for non-humanoid reploids, and so Liese goes over towards that area. Oh hey, it's a mock-up of a Ride Armor! Once she gets close, she folds her gloved hands behind her back and squints up at it. Kalinka approaches the new museum curiously...she's heard something about this, so she thought she'd come down and take a look herself. "I'd guess the thing is hollow. There'd be little point to making the interior and all the parts. I've seen the insides of Reploids, I'm sure ride armors are just as complex." Varia replies, trying to sound like she knows what she's talking about. Which she doesn't. She hears a voice, and turns to see Chest coming towards them. "Oh, hello there!" She says with a smile. Rigger bites at her lower lip a moment while rocking back on her heels. A childish gesture but one she used quite often to help her feet from falling asleep when standing too long. "You have no idea," she remarks with a nod that is quite knowledgable. She fixed both and built both at times--She knew. Hearing Chest's greeting she turns to smile at the somewhat familiar GNN persona. "H'lo." Breifly she cants her head to the side giving the replica Goliath another once-over. "Yeah, it's probably hollow, but I've seen people do stupider things before. Last thing we need is another one of those monsters running around." "If they built the replica dinosaurs out in the foyer to life-size, /that/ would be stupid," Liese says conversationally from behind Rigger and Varia. Chest, meanwhile, is looked at with mild nervousness, and she sidles to one side, attempting to put Rigger and Varia between her and any probing cameras. They're bad luck, you know. Chest takes a little bow to Varia and Rigger, and Camera lets out a whistle that sounds awfully similar to be stereo-typical 'pick-up' whistle. Chest gives the minicam a wap to its front and looks at the ride armour. "Actually, ladies, I've got a chance to see them as they were making this specific model. They actually did do some of the interior work on it. Apparently they're going to open 'er up and let people see what they think the insides of the Goliath looks like." He shrugs, "The other models are pretty much just hollow, though. Don't have the cash to spend on /that/ much detail." Chest turns around and nods to Liese, "Pleasure to meet you three, by the way. Name's Chest." Course, people probably already know who he is. Camera beeps something rude, and earns himself a scowl. Kalinka is still standing outside, talking on her phone like a typical teenager trying to get her 'posse' together. Off down a Robot-Master related hall...pondering his own inaccuracies, is the one spot of potential trouble in an otherwise enjoyable evening for those gathered at hand. Lucky for all of you, it's safe in California. At least, as long as the cops are watching.
Kalinka receives a radio transmission from Bowie.
Varia Beetle peers at the whistling camera, and giggles in return. "Well, it's nice to meet you as well. I'm Varia Beetle." She replies politly, and looks back to the Goliath. "So you say the thing's got working parts? I think it'd be pretty cool to ride around in one of those things. Like a video game." Kalinka waits at the doors to the museum, humming cheerfully to herself as she waits for Bowie to show up. Bowie makes his way down the street a bit faster than his usual unhurried pace. He hates making Kalinka wait on him. Not that this was a planned date or anything, but still. Rigger hisses out a frustrated sound of obvious distaste. So she was right--They were that stupid. Liese earns a slightly quizzical expression before she shakes her head firmly. "Idiots," she mumbles beneath her breath only to inhale deeply immediately after in an attempt to calm her rising sense of annoyance. "Rigger, nice to meet you Chest," she responds with only a breifly dubious glance cast towards the wolf-whistling camera. Liese Schreiner says, rather curtly, "Hello," towards Chest, giving the camera a brief wary glance - and then looking away! She is not here, camera, do not focus on her. She says quietly, towards Varia, "It would be a boring video game. Like driving a forklift." After a moment of wondering if she's the only person around with a normal name, she looks /up/ at the semi-functional thing. "They left the power cells out, one hopes." "One hopes, but, then again, people are idiots." The approaching stranger who may or may not be a Robot Master looks up at the Ride Armor replica, and, without missing a beat, passes off a wink toward Rigger. When Bowie comes into view, Kalinka grins brightly and begins waving. "Hey! This is brand new place, I think today they opened." "Nonono! It'd be way more than a forklift... It would be like a giant walking forklift of menacing DOOM!" Varia Beetle exclaims. "With like, all kinds of stuff. Course, it would't actually shoot missiles or anything, but it looks way cooler than a forklift!" Varia wrings her hands excitedly, her eyes going wide beneath her visor. "Could you imagine walking down a street in one of /those/?" Bowie smiles broadly and returns the wave. "Howdy sunshine." The Texan gives the building facade a once-over as he joins her. He certainly doesn't remember this being here before, but that doesn't mean much. "Surprised thare wusn't an announcement, or ads, or somethang." Rigger double-takes at Gemini as he comes up and winks of all things at her. Surprisingly enough it's responded to with a smile and a quiet chuckle as she shakes her head. Part of her cringes at seeing him here given the last time she spoke to him but she hides that well enough. "Who needs to imagine? I didn't waste my months away from the Hunters doing nothing. I still don't like the fact that it's more than an over-sized paperweight though. That's just asking for trouble." "I know, it does make me wonder who is behind this place," Kalinka admits as she gives Bowie a hug, and then heads toward the front doors, pulling them open. "And what, exactly, they have on display and where they got the stuff from." Gemini Man nods at Rigger, this being his only acknoweldgement of her greeting. And then. From behind the sacred velvet rope...one of the hands of the 'forklift of doom'...starts to move. Ever so slightly. A twitch of the wrist, a stretching of fingers. Then, with the creaking sound of moving metal, the entire arm moves, rotating upward, as the hand folds into a fist. Liese Schreiner says, alertly, "You wouldn't be walking, you would be riding." And then she says, in the same mild, alert, and actually rather pleasant tone of voice, "Is the arm meant to be moving like that, do you think?" Bowie returns the hug, of course. Yes, they are going to act like a cute couple. Those with a low tolerance should look away. He follows her inside, saying "Wunnerin that mahself. Ah mean, Ah didn't thank thare'd be enough different Ride armors t'make a whole museum outta them." Once inside, Kalinka lowers her voice as she speaks to Bowie. "...Well, some people are rich enough to collect these things...maybe this was...generous donation, of sorts." Chest looks up at the Ride Armor. He wouldn't fit in the Goliath, as he has no legs. Camera beeps at him laughingly and Chest ignores him and nods to Varia anyway. "Sure, yeah, it'd be 'cool'." He sounds just like an old guy who's trying to be hip by saying 'cool'. Chest looks at the newcomer - Gemini Man - and nods. Camera eyes the Robot Master. He doens't notice the forklift of doom moving. "Well, the ride armor would be walking, at least." Varia replies to Liese, some of the wind taken out of her sails. Varia then looks up at the arm, and tilts her head curiously. "Probaly. Maybe that's why they put in some moving parts? So it could flail around and look cool. Like the animatronic dinosaurs!" She adds cheerfully. Bowie offers Kalinka his arm, then starts walking in the direction of the closest exhibit. "Could be," he agrees. "Wunner if thay're real, or jus mock-ups." Rigger takes a step backwards abruptly as the thing so much as twitches. Relaxed from her absence in the Hunters or not she was still as paranoid as could be imagined thanks to the very inventor of this particular ride armor the replica was made after. "Oh bloody hell," she blurts loudly while fighting down the urge to turn tail and run. Maybe it was supposed to do that? Maybe monkeys would fly out of her rear. An accusing glance is cast towards Gemini as she demands, "Where's your other half, Doublemint?" It wasn't like him to walk around as a solo... Suspicious? Just a bit. Gemini Man eyes right back at the Camera. Wonder what it's looking at. Maybe the ride is supposed to have moving parts. But the Ride armor is probably NOT supposed to suddenly reach out with that hand. And GRIP the rope surrounding it with one tight fist. Is it real? Who can say... But Gemini is looking at it, sidelong, for a moment, and laughing just under his breath at Liese and Rigger's slightly startled reactions. Then, he takes a step back, in mock-horror, as the Ride pulls down the rope, ripping it to the floor, the supports that hold it crashing down with a CLATTER.
Kalinka links her arm in Bowie's, and peers at the ride armors on display. "Oh yeah. These are very real...and really collector items, too. It would be be pretty obvious if it was f--"
"I do not think that this is part of the display," Liese says, before turning her head towards Rigger and saying, politely and with only a hint of an accent, "You might want to step back a bit. It seems to be malfunctioning." Then her blue eyes turn from Rigger... to the well-dressed young fellow who appears to be named 'doublemint'. "You should as well, sir." Chest blinks behind his green shades at Rigger as she appears to know this newcomer (Gemini). He looks over at the thing and spots the moving arm. "Huh... didn't know they rigged it up to do that." He doesn't look that concerned, however. Camera continues to stare at Gemini. Chest suddenly jolts back as the Ride Armour grips the rope and knocks it down, "Holy... Camera, stop daydreaming and get on this!" The Manager barks. Camera squeals loudly and glares back at Chest. A short starring contest follows, with Camera finally focusing in on the moving Ride Armour. Varia Beetle blinks as the Ride Armor sends the support clattering to the ground. "Well, this is different." She muses, watching. However, she stands her ground. Unsure if the machine is /supposed/ to be doing this or not, Varia Beetle waits to see what happens next. Unseen, her servos and hydralics tense, ready to fight, if required. Rigger did ask, yes. She was a bright girl, yes. Enough so that she already knew the answer in spite of her question. A hand reaches out to try grasping at Liese's arm to blatantly suggest she get moving even as she begins to back up herself while her hand fumbles at her side for a weapon that isn't currently there. "That's *hardly* a malfunction," she snaps back while casting a baleful glare at the man she'd been questioning before. "If this is your idea of a joke it really isn't funny, and if you actually intend to ... This *really* isn't funny!" There's just the slightest edge of desperate fear to her exclaimations as adrenaline begins to surge through her for the first time in months. She glares narrow-eyed at the now moving Goliath Replica while her mind whirls rapidly to decide just what to do before things got out of hand. Other than running. Bowie blinks as well, head turning in the direction of the noise. "Good question." Dropping his arm-link with Kali, he starts heading in that direction. Clanking noises in a museum full of Armors is bad, yes. Kalinka follows right behind Bowie...frowning at the thought that this place has been in business exactly ONE DAY, and already someone's causing trouble here. (It's like they have to christen it, or something,) she thinks, shaking her head. Liese Schreiner's arm is, underneath the jacket, like grasping a steel pipe. Well, it's on the warm side, but the texture is not yielding in the same way that even buff and hard-muscled humans - or even many reploids! - are. "This is bad, I think," she observes towards Rigger, before gently squirming to try and disengage from - there we go! Foolish meatsack, you cannot restrain her Germanic might. "I will remove people from the area. If you know anything about fixing this.." That being aimed at not just Rigger, but Varia and others in the vicinity as well. And then, she gets a small smile on her face- Before turning on one heel and jogging at an /extremely/ good clip over towards a nearby clustering of gawking tourists. She raises her hands and shouts, "Raus! Alles raus!" while shoo'ing them, using what shards of acting talent she has to convey Urgency and Threat. "What... joke?" Gemini steps back away from the ride armor, as it MOVES...one step, off the platform where it's standing. "ME?" He looks at Rigger, and his eyes...glisten, holding back the flood of laughter. (Touchy!)Oo He takes another step away from the moving ride.... And then, he can't help it. He just starts to laugh, a mischeivous chuckle, putting his mouth in his hand, and contorting his half-false face. The armor takes another step onto the floor, then, stops dead, as if waiting for continued commands. Varia Beetle readies herself into a combat pose, delicate, white-gloved hands contorting into fists. "Rigger. Care to fill me in here? Who's your 'friend'?" Varia asks, her eyes narrowing under her visor. The machine stops, but Varia stands firm, waiting for an answer. Chest watches the Ride Armor intently, but becomes aware of Rigger yelling at Gemini Man, "Ok, ok, hold the phone 'ere." He says to Rigger and echoing Varia's question, "Just who is this guy?" He's got to be someone if Rigger is accusing him of being responsible for the Ride Armour's bizarre behavior. Camera keeps its camera on the armour itself. Woo, Chest can look in two places at once! Rigger receives a radio transmission from Gemini Man.
Bowie turns the corner...just in time to see a Ride Armor stop on the wrong side of the velvet rope. Well. That answers any questions he had about their authenticity. And it appears that GNN is already on the scene. The Texan glances once at Kali, then back at the Ride Armor. Oh, and at the Hunters already there too. Kalinka stares at the ride armor which is in a place ride armors have no business being. She also spies Varia nearby, and gives her a brief wave. "If someone is trying to steal that ride armor," Kalinka tells Bowie with grim resolve, "I have a way to get them out. But it is dangerous. It may be more dangerous if they get out, though." Rigger grips her hands into fists as the questions begin to roll in. At least the ride armor stopped. She'd been on the business end of the actual Goliath before and this brought back rather unpleasant memories. "I think you can explain, Doublemint. So long as you don't intend to do so through massive property damage," she responds to the radio she'd received aloud rather than bothering with returning the two-way. Now that the thing has stopped moving she quite surprisingly steps towards it with a cautious eye locked on it. Bowie's attention is on the rogue armor, so he doesn't do more than nod to the others. "Less dangerous than a Ride Armor in rush hour traffic?" he asides to his girlfriend. Chest glances at Varia and then at Rigger, scooting up slightly, "Hey, lady, who is this guy?" he asks the question again, getting more and more impatient with each time he's forced to repeat himself. Camera keeps focused on the ride armor, just in case. Without any sort of effect at all, the Ride Armor puts itself right back where it belongs. The rope is perfectly intact, set right up where it goes. One instant wrong, one instant, correct. It was as if nothing really happened there, at all. And in fact, nothing did. Gemini laughs a moment longer, straining as if he can barely contain himself to muster up a proper explanation. He swallows, then, says, a bit strained through an approaching giggle... "No harm...no property damage...no foul. You're all..." *hee* "lucky today, that I'm in a good mood." Varia Beetle blinks. Her arms drop to her sides. Varia Beetle blinks again. "Well, that was different." She says plainly, and looks around. Mostly at Mr. Doublemint. "I take it you do this kind of thing regularily?" Rigger stops rather abruptly to reach up and clap a hand over her face. Calm. Calm. Calm. Deep breaths. "Gemini Man," she manages to answer Chest through gritted teeth while feeling quite foolish for having fallen vicitim to his hologram. Her hand lowers as she steps back again still giving the culprit an annoyed glare. "That was so not funny." "What the..." Kalinka simply watches blankly as the ride armor just...walks right back onto the podium. She looks from Varia, over to Chest, then to Rigger, then finally over to Gemini. ".........." Then, she glances back to Bowie, shrugging a little bit. Bowie scowls for a moment in disconcernation, then shares a glance with Kali. Attention falls back to Rigger and the person she's accosting, apparently Gemini Man. He begins to walk closer, just in case the Master has any more bright ideas. "Aww. So. You aren't going to cover for me? We are hurt." Gemini smiles slightly at Rigger. "Least you could have done was pretend I was some UNALIGNED smart-ass illusionist. We are friends after all."
Chest snorts as it turns out to be a joke, but his optics widen as he learns the identity of the newcomer. Still, he hides any fear well behind his powerful bluster. "Oi." Camera beeps in agreement and looks over at the Gemini Man in the Ride armour carefully. Chest folds his arms and hovers over to the /other/ double-the-fun Robot Master, "What're you doing here besides causin' trouble, hmm?" Varia Beetle folds her arms across her chest, looking back and forth between Gemini Man and his disguise counterpart. "Gemini Man. Wonderful. You're a wanted terrorist. Give up, or I'll be forced to bring you in." Varia Beetle says, her voice hard. Dun dun dun. Kalinka frowns, and wonders sometimes about Rigger's...relationships, with the Masters. She gets entirely too close and chummy with them for her liking. (Better to keep that to myself,) she thinks as she remains close to Bowie. (If I brought up THAT topic again, Cain would be raised for sure. At least Varia's not going to stand for this crap. And I know Bowie won't, either. Hm, wonder if I brought the pistol...) She remains silent for the moment, not interrupting the discussion in progress. Bowie says nothing for the moment, but it's not like he's known for his verbosity. The other Gemini earns an irritated glare as he lounges in the RA's cockpit. Rigger lifts an arm to wave her hand dismissively at Gemini with a scowl of annoyance. Friend. Yes, friend indeed. "Either way you'd get in trouble for a stunt like this. At least this way you can brag about it later, huh?" She points out in an attempt to be reasonable. Though why she's bothering is beyond her. "Do we have to do anything else?" The twin in the ride gives Chest an incredulous look, raising brows at him under his helmet. "Didn't mean to spoil a lovely evening." Liar.
Chest snaps his fingers at Camera, who focuses in on Varia. 'Give up, or I'll be forced to bring you in' will make a nice hightlight. Chest is pretty secure in his safety since he's not exactly going to participate if there's a battle. Plus, Robot Masters often LIKE being filmed as they kick butt. Looks cool when it's on the nightly news. Grunting at Gemini's answer, the GNN Manager hovers back to observe. He'll try not to get involved in this any further. Kalinka sends a radio transmission.
Varia Beetle lets out a little sigh. "First off, I'm not Repliforce. I'm a Hunter." She says, and takes a slow step towards the first Gemini Man. "And second, you are a wanted criminal, whether you've done something wrong in the near or distant past doesn't matter... You are a dangerous individual, and for the safety of others you must be detained." She says firmly. "Give up now and come peacefully... Or I will be forced to take you back in pieces." Bowie doesn't answer Gemini in words, letting his distinctly cross expression speak for him. He folds his arms across his chest, though he doesn't go so far as to start tapping his foot. Whatever Bowie's said to Kalinka in a brief radio exchange has cooled her down somewhat. She remains right by him, her posture and expression unintentionally (and almost comically) identical to his. "Varia," Rigger begins sounding just a bit tired. She disliked playing the voice of reason at times. "While I hate to point out the obvious, there are alot of people around that could be unintentionally hurt in the cross-fire of a battle. Not to mention the property damage to a museum would range in the millions, and that's pushing our budget just a bit too much." "Really?" The 'disguised' Gemini looks at Varia, and shrugs. "Aren't there any MEN in the Maverick Hunters, or is Rockman just your PIMP?"
Unlike some Hunters that can be mentioned, Bowie is slow to anger. Gemini's insult goes unanswered, though the downward tug at the corners of his mouth shows that it was certainly heard. The sudden glancing around by the first twin likewise does not go unnoticed, and so the gunslinger slowly begins unfolding his arms again. Varia Beetle knows very well that Gemini's forearm becomes a weapon, just like Rock, Protoman, Bass, and so many of the Robot Masters. However, Varia has little choice but to follow The Book. Gemini is giving himself up peacefully. And as Rigger had said, there are people near who could be hurt. "Rigger? Do me a favour and have the area evacuated. This could get messy." Varia says, and approaches one of the twain Gemini. She takes out a pair of sturdy handcuffs, and clanks them around Gemini's wrists. Hopefully, the one down /here/ is the real one. Shark Man has arrived. Rigger casts Varia an annoyed look at her request. Head shaking she steps away to glance around at the crowds which had already been pushed back for the most part thanks to Liese's efforts. Hissing out a sigh she just begins to backpedal until she's well out of range of the mock ride armor that can actually move, and the disguised Gemini. "Right." Chest listens as the Maverick Hunters plan to evacuate the people. That better not include him, though. The press has its duty to do, and Chest isn't going to pass up on a story like this just because it might get a tiny bit dangerous. Camera beeps to Chest, and the GNN Bossman shakes his head, "No no no, I'm sure I'll be perfectly safe." Camera beeps again, "Wha? Oh, yeah, you're probably screwed. I'LL be fine, though. Now see if you can get in a little closer for when the Robot Master resists the arrest." Bowie sends a radio transmission to Kalinka.
That is in fact the real Gemini.
Kalinka just...facepalms. Palm to the face, smack. "I *warned* you," Rigger utters from the sidelines where she stands with arms crossed and foot tapping irritably against the ground. In spite of her aggitation she can't help but smirk at the antics that Gemini had come up with. Bowie drops his hands, reaching for his knife, only to realize that it might not be necessary yet. Emphasis on yet. Instead, he simply sighs at the antics. Varia Beetle is definatly caught off guard by Gemini Man's little trick, and stares dumbfounded at her own handcuff on her own wrist. Varia Beetle stumbles as Gemini yanks on the short chain, and falls onto the smaller robot with a clatter. "I've had just about enough of your tricks, Gemini Man!" She says, but it's hard to believe her, when she's choking back a chuckle after what the holographic twin said. Varia reaches out with her unchained hand, and tries to grab a hold of Gemini's shoulder in her granite grip. Chest rolls his eyes behind his green shades as Gemini Man turns the tables and gets the handcuffs on Varia. Camera focuses in on the chained unlikely pair as Gemini makes his Odd Couple reference. The Android knows that this is a difficult situation for the forces of good. Do you smack Gemini out of here even though he's not really causing much trouble and it might put innocents in harm? Or do you let him stay even though he's a terrorist who's creating mischief? Either way, if team good messes up, it'll be caught on camera. Chest sighs as Varia falls, dragging both down. Shark Man has been walkig around the museum for a while, before ending up in the same room as the others. Sharky walks up to the Gemini twin not in handcuffs. "Hey dude. He alright?" he says, nodding towards the other Gemini. "YOW!" Gemini winces as he's grabbed.
Varia Beetle shoves herself to her knees, keeping a firm grip on Gemini Man's shoulder, digging in with her steel fingers. "The cuff can stay." Varia replies tersly, and rises to her feet, lifting Gemini off the floor with ease. "You're coming with me." She continues, and begins to calmly walk towards the exit, dull footsteps clanging on the floor. Kalinka bites her lip, watching hopefully as Varia tries to take Gemini in. (This is probably not going to work,) she thinks in disappointment. (Even with all of us covering her, that slimeball will find some illusion to save his own hide.) As tempting as it might be to simply walk off in disgust at Gemini's antics, Bowie can't do that. Leaving Masters to their own devices is always a bad idea. When Varia begins walking off with Gemini #1, he returns his glare to #2, as if waiting for him to do something. Of course the newbie Repliforce Private would somehow end up at the scene of a battle...but only after it ended. Such was the luck of the new recruits. Black wings blocked the sun for a moment as he approached the group of..well..Ooo..HUNTERS...neat. His taloned feet kicked up puffs of dust as he landed, great black wings folding up. 'Lets see...That's Gemini Man', he thought to himself, 'And...so's that...' Shark Man is just chillin', sitting near the free Gemini Man. He doesn't pull out a drink yet, this being a public place, and all. Well..ignore that last bit. We'll change it to...he /heard/ there was a fight...but there doesn't appear to be squat going on. Bummer. Chest continues to watch the little scuffle between Gemini Man and Varia Beetle. Upon spying Shark Man, Chest works up his courage and hovers over towards him, microphone in hand. Camera beeps in anger and pops up another camera so he can capture both what's going on with Varia/Gems, and Shark and Chest. The GNN Manager halts near Shark and says, "So, anything you'd like to say to the people at home?" He'd never try this on a Maverick. Rigger turns her attention towards Chest and the camera more importantly as the spectacle continues. She could take care of the camera. Might be a good idea to do so. But at the same time she didn't want to deal with the whole 'subduing the press' issues. So instead she begins to follow after while reaching up to rub the back of her neck and sending off a radio. Ah. For one brilliant second, Gemini had been lying on a floor chained to and being embraced by a female Maverick Hunter. A feat no other trained RM lech could lay claim to.
Shark Man blinks. The last thing he expected when he came here was to be interviewed, but, well, stuff happens. "Uh... well... not really... Just, you know, keep it cool, and all that stuff. Oh, and I hear there's some maverick dude copying my look, and stuff. So, like, watch out, and stuff." So...Nothing out here but dust and sun...and that building. Hmm...well..the fight night be inside...or it could just be empty. So he did the prudent thing and started walking towards it, to see what was inside. He did make it to the door and he did stick his head in, and he saw Gemini Man threatening the reporter. 'Eep...that's no good' ...how to fix it...Well..the best thing to do would be to wait and jump in if the...hey..a Hunter!...well..watching will be ok. Chest tilts his head. What the Hell - Robot Master interviews are always great when they show their bloopers after the nightly news. "Really. That's facinating. Tell us more so we know not to be fooled by this imposter Shark Man." He says with a straight face. Camera beeps something rude, but Chest ignores both him and Rigger staring at him. Varia Beetle stops as the pair talk back and forth, and stares at the other Gemini Man, aiming a gun at Chest. Wonderful. Varia stops, staring at the gun. Speechless, for a moment. "Let him go, Gemini Man. He's done nothing." Varia says, lowering the first Gemini down to the floor. "You'll only make it worse for yourself." Shark Man says "Uh.. well... he's got this, like, anchor, or something, and, like, makes holograms of dead people, and stuff. All things considered, he's, like, totally... uh... uncool, and stuff... yeah." Chest eyes the gun carefully as it's aimed in his direction, "Tell ya what, Gemini Man. I'll make you a deal. Don't hurt me or anyone on my staff and I'll send you a copy of any footage we get of you Masters in action. Just think of the bragging rights!" Camera beeps something loud. Although nobody can understand it save Chest, it translates into 'Do it, Gemini Man! Kill him!' Rigger stops in her tracks when she hears that tell-tale sound of trouble brewing--Again. Scowling in annoyance she turns to glare at the second Gemini, Chest, Shark, and then off towards Kalinka and Bowie who are still relatively near the entrance. A hand lifts to pinch at the bridge of her nose a moment as she utters words she doesn't really want to, "Let him go, Varia. If the Wily's were the least bit concerned about casualties do you really think they'd have warrants out for their arrest to begin with? He's not going to back down." Gemini Man rolls back his damaged shoulder, feeling it POP right back into its proper place. "At least now he's done something half-way arrest-worthy."
Chest nods to Gemini Man and sighs as his interview with Shark Man is cut short due to the little incident. The GNN Manager whips out a cigar and chomps on it, lighting it in one swift motion. Before he was worried about the no-smoking signs, but given the circumstances, hopefully nobody'll care. "And hey," he adds to Gemini Man as Camera looks onward in disappointment at the lack of Chest-splatterings, "Extend this offer to the rest of the Robot Masters, will you? You boys don't interfere with my staff as we do our jobs, and we'll give you a copy of what we record." A long-standing deal with the Masters would be nice. "Let me know what they say, eh?" He takes a puff on his cigar. Shark Man notices that his interview is over, so he shrugs his shoulders, and sits on the floor, mixing himself a pina coloda. Varia Beetle folds her arms across her chest, the cut handcuffs still dangling from her wrist. She watches as Chest holds no hard feelings for the Robot Master that would have killed him if required, and sighs. "Another job well done," She murmurs to herself. Thunderbolt Raven looks on at the scene and sighs. Stupid media. They should leave so that they can do their jobs. Namely stomping on Gemini Man and Shark Man, it shouldn't be too hard...That is if the humans were gone. They're too fragile, and untrained, to be in the middle of this Ah, such a good thing Rigger couldn't read reploid minds else she'd be stomping over to Thunderbolt to give him a peice of hers. Instead she follows after Varia and reaches out to try to pat her consolingly on the back. "Don't sweat it. There will be other times. This just wasn't the right one." Other than the large blades he temporarily has on his arm, Gemini still looks...almost human as he turns away from the scene. He calls back at Rigger for a second. "Hey. Try and relax!" he says, giving her some rather ironic advice, considering how much he loves to cause a stir. He then shifts his hand back to an ordinary hand-shape. Solid holograms were fantastic.
The simple fact that the two Masters were going to get away rather enraged Raven. So he decided to bolt before he did something rash. Large black wings snapped horizontal before flapping and carrying him off to places unknown Varia Beetle's shoulders sag, and she sighs. "Well, this was a wonderfully productive afternoon, wasn't it, Rigger?" Varia says softly. She was really looking forward to being a hero. Chest is making peace, not war! Silly Maverick Hunters and Repliforcers think that killing things is the only way to solve a problem when a simple business deal can make things all right. And hey, if this deal goes through, all sides will benefit! Masters get cool footage for bragging rights, Chest's staff doesn't get molested, and the forces of good don't have to worry about the innocent media-men being in as much danger. Wins all around. Chest silently whews as the gun is no longer pointed at him. He chuckles and says, "Well, yeah, we can work out the details later." Hey, safety is important for GNN staff, and there's no strategic use for the footage, really. Well, not much of any. Rigger shoots Gemini a harried glance only to roll her eyes away with a snort. Relax indeed. She had every right to be tense given the situation that he had stirred up. Her expression turns sympathetic however in regards to Varia's plight. "Hey, no one died and nothing got blown up. That's a pretty big accomplishment right there." "But there's no way of knowing who gets hurt tomorrow. Or the next day." Varia says, and begins walking towards the door. "And that's why we fight. So others don't have to." She says, and slowly leaves. Rigger clears her throat quietly, "You're preaching to the choir," she murmers after the departing Varia with a slow shake of her head. Yes, such a wonderful evening. The second Gemini disappears, along with the rack of missiles which was also, never there. "We'll work out the details, then," says the first, the one still in civvies, giving a nod to Chest, and putting his hands in his pockets. "Really lovely place out here..." he then adds, as he walks off down another hallway, to look at some other interesting, not-functioning, weaponry. Chest smiles and nods. Another crisis solved thanks to peace! "Sure thing, Gemini Man. Keep in touch." Camera beeps in disappointment and Chest rolls his eyes and turns around, looking at the forces of good, "Well that could have gone a whole lot worse, eh?" He takes a long puff on his cigar. Shark Man is just sitting down, drinking a pina coloda, and generally not caring much for the weapons.
