Night of the Duel

[After an unfortunate encouter with Maverick Hunter Seismic Earthworm, Elite Commander Enker decided it might be a boon to the Masters if we got a copy of the tunneler-worm's plans. When we contacted his original builders for the information, we also learned of a new reploid prototype, which we became determined to steal...]

Whistling as if he hasn't a care in the world, Magnet Man steps off of a teleporter pod in the room, strolling toward the door with his hands in his pockets. He occasionally sings a few words, snatches from movies or games. ~/o Fithos... Lusec... ~/o

Gemini Man walks into the room, looking around, a bit urgently. As Magnet Man steps off the teleporter, Gemini grins. "...Did you know that doesn't mean anything?" he says.

Magnet Man flicks his eyes to Gemini, cutting off his tunemaking with a grin of his own. "Oh, I dunno. I thought it was something in some old language, but it never mattered to me. Sounds nice!" He approaches his brother, pulling his hands from his pockets. "So what's up?"

Sword Man arrives from the Wily Sphere - Corridor (Blue level).
Sword Man has arrived.

Gemini Man shakes his head. "Nope, completely meaningless."

"Absolute drivel," adds another Gemini Man, entering the room, as if to punctuate this statement. The newcomer leans in the doorway, as the other approaches.

"We have good news," says the first Gemini. "And we need to have some conversation about it."

Magnet Man claps his hands together once, apparently completely unfazed by being told that one of his favorite songs is drivel. Hey, so what if the words don't mean anything? "Sweet! What's the news? Was it about Enker's orders?"

Gemini Man nods. "Exactly. We've finally compiled prototype schematics for the worm...based on our hologram."

"No demonstrations," the Gemini by the door protests, waving a 'halting' hand. "But, Enker told me you had an additional plan in mind. We're interested in hearing it..."

Magnet Man's face lights up. "Oh, yeah! Look, I had something like this." He becomes animated, gesturing as he speaks, sometimes pacing about. "So we got these schematics, right? We build this big robot worm, and it looks exactly like that Seismic dude, but we get it programmed to be one of us, yanno? And so we go to his competitors, and we make the fake Seismic knock 'em around, so it makes WYRMS and the Hunters look bad."

Gemini Man cocks his head to the side. "Interesting. I DID think that was something like what Enker had in mind."

"But then we got to thinking," says the Gemini by the door.

"There is at least one perfectly GOOD one already built. Isn't there? Or, almost built. At that factory." Gemini Man grins. "What's stopping us from skipping all that hard work, and just...adding a little extra programming?"

Magnet Man stops for a moment, mouth forming into a small o. "Ooooh. That's a cool idea! Oh, but wait. I know we're all androids n' stuff... but that worm was like a reploid... can you, like, preprogram a reploid?"

Gemini Man takes this question seriously, thinking it over for a moment. "Not sure. Have we ever tried?"

A more relevent question, posed by the one standing farther away... "Have the Mavericks tried?"

"I imagine it would work well at first, anyway. It would have to. I remember that old man saying something about a reploid overriding his or her base programming with a personality..." He shakes his head. "But, right away?"

"And what is the 'Maverick Virus' anyway?" asks the other.

"Now you're getting into philosophy." Gemini Man shrugs. "We find a programmer. Ask if it's possible. I'd say it is."

Magnet Man rubs his chin. "Hmm... who can we find that would be a good enough programmer... I bet you Doppler would know, but that kooky old man wouldn't help us out. An' there's Uncle Light, but... eh, not like he would help either."

Sword Man steps out of the Citadel pod and bows to his fellow RMs. "Good day Sir Gemini, Sir Magnet."

Sword Man says, "I pray I have not interuptted personal matters between you two."

Magnet Man steps to the side as Sword approaches, and grins to his younger brother. "Aw, sure haven't. We were just discussin' a project of ours." He gives Sword a clap on the back. "Enker's got some orders, so we've been doin' some planning."

Gemini Men, both, wave to Sword Man. The Gemini by the door shakes his head a little. "Just an assigment we're working on..." then the one more to the room's interior resumes his discussion with Magnet Man. "Well, there's always dad. If he could put something on a disk, we could install it." Gemini Man makes a gesture as if grabbing onto a disk with his thumb and first two fingers.

"Actually, the building has security cameras," says the Gemini Man by the door, with a grin of his own. "And just about ANYONE could install it..." He laughs.

Sword Man "Hrm"s as he listens to both his brothers' explanations. "Praytell, what do you have planned?"

Magnet Man leans against the wall, and hrms at the floor. "Well, Sword, there's this big worm, made by this company called WYRMS, that's W-Y-R-M-S, that smashed up our Stealth a little while back. Name's Seismic. And so Enker wanted to y'know, like, neutralize him. Or do somethin' back to him for smashin' us up. So we wanted to do somethin' to him--and he's got, like, a brother or sister or something being built right now. Gemini had the sweet idea of, like, hijacking the other big worm and makin' it a Wilyworm."

Gemini Man smiles. "The beauty of it is, even if this doesn't work, we still have schematics for the original as a backup."

"The only question is, do we want to implicate the hunters for the reprogram? If it's dismissed as a fluke, it will be chalked up to the Mavericks."

Sword Man strokes his chin as he takes in the proposed plan of action set out by Sir Magnet and Sir(s) Gemini. "Interesting. An attack coupled with a possiblity to convert a former foe to our Lord's cause, as well as an adequate failsafe plan. I am unsure, however, on how to divert attention to our involvement afterwards...."

Magnet Man says, "Well, I dunno much about politics an' all that..." Except what he learned from games and movies, of course. "But I'm thinkin', since Seismic is already a Hunter, it must be like WYRMS and the Hunters have a good relationship. An' if we reprogrammed that worm--what was his name, or her name, Quicksilver?--to be like for us, people would suspect. I bet WYRMS an' the Hunters would make sure of it. So mebbe we should... hmm. Oh! How about.. how about we organize like a big charade or somethin' to make it look like it went Maverick. I mean, slurring the Mavs, that's always a bonus. An' then everything bad /it/ does, the Mavs'll get blamed!" He grins at this. "And then we won't be suspected."

Both Gemini Men look at each other. "Easy," says the first."

"No big charade," says the other, and he steps a few paces into the room. "Chances are, if a reploid goes haywire, the Mavericks will be the first to blame. If security footage were to show a Maverick scouting the place, even planting the 'virus,' that's a bonus."

Sword Man simply "hrm"s again as he runs the plan over through his head...

Magnet Man exhales disappointedly. He always was a fan of impractically dramatic plots. You can guess why. "Ah well. Hmmm. Hey, I bet you could do that, couldn't you?" He lights up again. "With all your holograms n' stuff. Do you have any Mavs in your projector?"

[O-Master] Refrigerator Magnet Man says, "This plan is so wicked."
[O-Master] Refrigerator Magnet Man says, "Enker would be pleased."
[O-Master] My squad doesn't HAVE XO, Gemini Man thanks you. :)

The twins sigh heavily. "No."

"Not at the moment. We need one."

"Any will do."

"Well, the more plausible, the better. We don't need the GOLIATH waltzing into WYRMS." One of the twins shrugs. "I guess we'll have to do a little Maverick hunting."

"That's ironic," says the other.

Magnet Man rubs his hands, acknowledging this. "Yep... so we need to get a Maverick... hmmmm. So how could we lure one or two of 'em out into the open. This is your field, Gemini... whadda think would work to bring 'em out? I bet the three of us could do it tonight, if we could get something set up!"

Gemini Man ponders, rubbing a hand under his chin. "Well, Cuba almost always works. Dangerous, though."

Magnet Man nods his head rapidly. "I, uh... don't wanna go anywhere near there." One hand comes up, and he rubs his neck. "Not after I, uh, gave Vile that wedding ring that was supposed to be from Anthem."

One of the Geminis winces. "Oo."

The other just laughs. "Well, where else, then?" He ponders.

Magnet Man says, "I don't really know--oh!" He turns back to Sword, a grin plastered across his face. Watch out! "Hey, Sword dude, I know you're pretty good at, like, callin' out Mavs n' stuff for duels. You got any, like, running grudges? You could call one for a fight, an' me and Gemini could be hidin' there to get a good scan."

Sword Man frowns slightly.

Sword Man says, "Unfortunately, in this case, no. It is possible I can call out one honorable enough to partake in a duel. However, I will not allow you to interrupt the duel until one of us falls. Then you may do what you need."

Magnet Man says, "Well, all we need is a scan, right Gemini?"

Gemini Man mutters to himself... "I so regret not scanning that little _brat_...." until the other one taps him consolingly on the shoulder, and nods to Magnet Man. "A scan is no interruption. They won't even know we're there," he says to Sword Man.

Magnet Man slams one fist into the opposite palm. "All right, then!" He blinks, then, and sobers. "Just, uh.. make sure you're careful an' all, bro." He speaks to Sword. "It would kinda dampen the victory if you got all beat up in return for us gettin' the scan..."

Sword Man closes his eyes in contemplation. "It is of no consequence. A duel is a duel. One must fall. If it shall be myself, so be it. So long as the duel proceeds as necessary and you are able to obtain the scan you need."

Sword Man says, "Shall we proceed to the field of battle, brothers?"

Gemini Man rubs his hands together gleefully. Then, the twins look at one another, and merge, before stepping to the teleporters.

Sword Man says, "Sir Magnet?"

Magnet Man takes a moment to limber up, grinning--even though he probably won't be fighting at all tonight. "Sure! I'm with ya. Where we headed?"

Sword Man says, "To the barren cold of Alaska, brother. There, we shall find our foe."

Sword Man says, "Ready then brothers? Then to Anchorage and on."

Gemini Man disappears in a flash of energy.

Teleportation Area--Anchorage

Rows of tall teleportation capsules line the walls, each clearly labeled with a detination. A few are labeled 'Custom Location' instead of with a city name.

Alaska

Alaska has long been the most barren of the states in America, the human settlements in the south fading as the weather turns colder. Much of the land is cold and mountainous, forests and frozen swampland marking the flatlands. Long an oil-rich land, Alaska still has much of its reserves thanks to judicious harvesting of the once all-important fluid. The highest mountains in America are here, tall and snow bound, and the land remains quite beautiful, untouched by the progress in the more urban areas. The native cultures have retaken much of this land, and live there as they have for centuries, keeping the old ways alive. The cities on the southern edge of the state are nonetheless modernized, though there are no stratoscrapers, or even skyscrapers here, merely the last bastion of the dominant civilization before the frozen north.

Magnet Man has arrived.

Sword Man says, "So now we wait........"

Magnet Man rubs his arms slightly--he feels the cold here, despite being robotic. Surveying the area, he tries to locate a good place for he and Gemini to hide. "Hey, I think I'm gonna go duck down behind that stand of trees." He gestures to a cluster a few meters away. "We better hide, 'fore this Mav arrives."

M3 - Friday, December 28, 2001, 10:33 PM

Gemini Man joins with Sword Man and Magnet Man as the currently-trio treks out of the city of Anchorage and into the barren wilderness beyond. Gemini's white boots meld into the color of a thin layer of snowcover, and he looks out onto the possible arena, looking for a copse of trees to take cover in to watch the event.

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Big Bad Sword Man transmits, "Attention all Mavericks! This is Sword Man, knight of the noble Robot Masters. For too long have you been allowed to interfere in our pursuit of the cause of our master and Lord, Lord Wily, may his memory never be forgotten. This shall no longer be tolerated. For this reason, I am issuing a challenge to all Mavericks willing and noble enough to meet me in a duel on the outskirts of the city of Anchorage in the territory of Alaska. No interference shall be tolerated. Just you and thy weapon against my blade. For the glory and memory of Lord Wily!"

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Psych Mosquito transmits, "Yes, yes. Let's all ask people for battles to the death for nothing else than petty squabbles. That will certainly solve everything and bring the world into harmony."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "Gee, someone's feeling his macho tonight."

Magnet Man sends a radio transmission.

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Guts Man transmits, "Well it was nice knowing you Sword Man."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Blizzard Man transmits, "Pardon?"

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Psych Mosquito transmits, "What's more, let's ask people to carry them out on UN territory where both contestants are wanted war criminals, and announce the specific location on a broadband channel that the Repliforce listen to."

[OOC] Sword Man says, "....I realize maybe I should have worded that a little better...."

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Psych Mosquito transmits, "I admire your wisdom, sir."

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] RF Lieutenant Spiral Pegasus, as if on cue, "Hi."

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Magnet Man transmits, "Pff, you think Repliforce is gonna care if he, like, beats up on a Mav?"

Vile arrives from the Yukon Territory.
Vile has arrived.

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Psych Mosquito transmits, "Certainly."

[OOC] Vile says, "Boo."
[OOC] Magnet Man says, "This was unexpected."
[OOC] Sword Man says, "Oh boy...."

Fusion Phoenix arrives from the Sky Above Western Canada.
Fusion Phoenix has arrived.

Magnet Man receives a radio transmission from Heat Man.

[OOC] Magnet Man says, "Dang."

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Psych Mosquito transmits, "In any case, simply by standing within the boundaries of the UN he is forfeiting his rights. The UN could drop a bomb on him if they cared to."

[OOC] Sword Man says, "I worded that SOOOOO wrong.........."

[OOC] Vile says, "Yep. I told you I was coming after all RMs, right?"

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "Sword's challenging the Mavericks to single combat."

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Job transmits, "Dead masters or dead Mavericks. Either way the world comes out as the winner."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Blizzard Man transmits, "... Did I hear plural?"

[OOC] Fusion Phoenix is here to watch.

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "You did."

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Heat Man transmits, "So cheery."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta XO Metal Man transmits, "Interesting speach Sword Man."

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Chat Overdrive Ostrich transmits, "Hah.. I haven't got anything better to do.. anyway, I just hafta run faster'n' Blade Brain here.."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Blizzard Man transmits, "As in, all the Mavericks?"

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Fusion Phoenix transmits, "And we won't be at risk while one evil weakens another. I do hope they decide on an uninhabited area."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta XO Metal Man transmits, "Who is up for a rumble?"

[Radio: (F) Worldchat] Psych Mosquito transmits, "Tell me, what is your rank?"

Maverick Drone arrives from the Anchorage South Main Street.
Maverick Drone has arrived.

Sword Man stands tall, swordtip thrust into the ground, and stares at the coming figure of the maverick Vile. "So one has taken up the challenge." He quickly goes into a defensive position and waits for the maverick to come closer.

[Radio: (A) Masters] Gemini Man transmits, sounding not pleased... "All right, people, here is the DEAL. If anyone wants to provide BODY COUNT for me so we get more Mavs I need a scan other than FREAKIN' VILE. Something a little more LOW RANKING. Sword Man, best of LUCK to you, when I get what I need, run, if you've got the brains."

Heat Man sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "10 points for style. -20,00000000000 points for saying that on A POTENTIALLY UNSECURED CHANNEL. Be ready for a counterambush, now, and let us know if you need help."

Gemini Man is ducked behind a copse of trees. He wants a scan, not combat, after all....

Fusion Phoenix slowly flies in from the south. Watching a Master beat up on a Maverick, or vice versa, is one of his favorite spectator sports. At least this time the combatitants have chosen an uninhabited region to fight in.

Magnet Man is concealed. Not far from Gemini. He posed. :D

Maverick Hoverbike [Muon] arrives from the Sky Above Western Canada.
Maverick Hoverbike [Muon] has arrived.
Maverick Hoverbike [Muon]
This hoverbike is rather small, able to hold only a single passenger, or two if they don't mind being cramped. It is primarily colored in red, with light green racing stripes down the side. A small windshield looks capable of totally enclosing the cockpit, and small booster jets on either side of the main engine make this bike capable of aquatic travel.
Carrying:
Overdrive Ostrich

Overdrive Ostrich has arrived.

Overdrive Ostrich receives a radio transmission.

Alaska. Ice. Snow. Tundra... A truly harsh environment. Strangely fitting for the rather unexpected responder to Sword Man's challenge. Is it a trap? Sure. Odds are. Does he care? Not really. Appearing from nowhere - Blinking subtly into the area - a cold, sinister shape materializes opposite Sword Man. When one issues such a challenge.... One must be ready for the worst. Setting a trap doesn't quite work when -certian- people choose to appear.

Vile had little to say, as he simply stares at Gemini Man, the blizzard being whipped across his armor, frost accumuating on his shoulderplates, his greaves embedded deeply into the white powder. Moreover, he reveals that he isn't exactly a fan of 'fair play', as he lifts one hand into the air, clenching into a fist. And, as it does... The Goliath appears. Prime target to be scanned by Gemini Man, it's worth noting... But if he uses it, he runs the risk of the real thing showing up, it's pilot being none too pleased.

Maverick Heavy Ride Armor [Goliath] has arrived.
Vile drops Maverick Heavy Ride Armor [Goliath].

[Radio: (A) Masters] Blizzard Man transmits, "Have fun guys and make sure you whoop some big, fat, Maverick skidplate!"

Magnet Man exhales, from his hiding place. Damn! Damn damn damn. Vile was /not/ what they wanted... and it's /especially/ not what Magnet wanted. Not after he... after he gave Vile that wedding ring from 'Anthem'. Ohhhh man.

Overdrive Ostrich hops off the Muon into the snow with a smirk. He looks around the frozen waste for a moment, then his face falls as he notices Vile had already responded to the call. Man, the brass get all the fun.. He leans against the hovercycle and folds his arms, watching anyway. No point in wasting the trip.

[Radio: (A) Masters] Magnet Man transmits, "Oh, man. I think maybe we should, like, uh, cut our losses and, uh, get the hell outta here."

Sword Man blinks as he hears a loud *THUMP* in the direction of Vile's figure. He grunts as he realizes what Vile has just done. "This is.....unexpected." he mutters. Still, there is no turning back on a duel, especially one he issued the challenge for. Even if the outlook becomes bleaker by the moment.....

Gemini Man winces. VILE? And he spotted him already... Didn't he SPECIFICALLY say he didn't want the damn Goliath??? Oh, this did NOT, did NOT bode well... Sword Man was even stupid enough to stick around. Now that he'd put out a challenge like that, he was idiot enough to see it through. He looks across the field... Hm. Now that might work. But... Gemini Man shakes his head at Vile. I don't want anything to do with YOU, his expression quietly says. This was no trap for an officer.

Fusion Phoenix sedatly over the battlefield. The local authorites have rerouted all trafic away from the area, no one lives near enough to be in danger, so the only thing for him to do is watch the coming fight, and maybe pick off the victor, if he looks weak enough.

Then Vile arrives. .oO(This should make things intresting!)Oo.

Fusion is here to watch and report what happens, so he sends off a play by play message via radio.

Heat Man sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Told you."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "Do you require EVAC?"

[Radio] You send Heat Man a direct message: "Negative, Heat Man. Not at present. ...And next time we use SWORD MAN to set up a trap, we'll make sure he's not such a damned bonehead about it. GRrrrrrr...."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Magnet Man transmits, "Er, um, maybe.. not yet. No, no, not, um, yet. I mean, uh, maybe soon, but I think I can run. Fast enough. Maybe. Oh man. Okay, nevermind, an evac would be nice. When we call for it. Soon."

Heat Man sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Fair enough...and next time also remember your radio discipline, too. It saves lives."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Magnet Man is pretty obviously freaked out.

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "Right."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "Metal, and anyone availible. The Hangar. Now."

[Radio: (B) Secure] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "And by hangar I mean the Citadel, but I'm not saying that on open comms."

Taking one massive step forward, the daunting frame of Vile, flanked with his mighty Goliath clomps through the snow, decked out in his power armor, weapons adorning either shoulder, the Vile Shield drawn out and wrapped across one arm. "Time... to die." makes up his only words; rasped out coldly, before Vile kicks off with his first attack. Namely, rushing forward and immediately trying to take an advantage by knocking Sword Man off his balance, lashing out with the solid edge of his Vile Shield... Meanwhile, the Vile Cannon slowly begins to charge up for potential usage shortly. Just like a Master to bite off more than they can chew.

Vile misses Sword Man with his Smash attack.

Overdrive Ostrich shakes his head a little at the battle. It's so rediculously one-sided he might as well leave. He stretches a little and glances back at the Muon. Well, maybe a couple more minutes.

Magnet Man receives a radio transmission from Gemini Man.
[Radio] You send Magnet Man a direct message: "Take on the other Maverick before he changes his mind about staying. That'll be the scan, and I need a distraction.'"

Sword Man dodges to the side as Vile rushes at him, hoping to ram into him and take first blood. Quickly, Sword dodges to the side and snaps off a quick swipe to Viles back.

Vile remains clear of Sword Man's Cut.

The other local ornothological reploid also shakes his head. What ever the outcome he'll be happy, but it looks like the Master is going to go down today.

Gemini Man pops off a radio message, and, then, he seems to be on the move. He turns away from the battlefeild, and for a moment, his white-on-black is hidden in the increasing wave of snow.

Magnet Man nodnods rapidly at Gemini, though he can't help but stare at the beginning duel. . o O (Sorry, bro...) He begins to edge away from Vile and Sword Man, turning his attention toward Overdrive Ostrich instead. Licking his lips, he shifts his left arm ever-so-slowly into a plasma cannon and props it up against the side of a tree, behind a screen of foliage. He's not going to fire... quite yet. Stay put, ostrich dude...

Vile's shield crash hits nothing but air, as Vile slips right past Shield Man. Quick to act, Vile spins around in the flicker of an optic, centrifugal force generated by the impressive power of his boost engine. Meanwhile, the Goliath sits and waits... As if -daring- someone to try something. Slipping narrowly out of the path of the slashing cut, the rack of missile's on Vile's opposite shoulder resounds with a symphony of clicks and whines, before launching a helter skelter of tiny projectiles, each one exploding into a trail of smoke, racing up into Sword Man. Vile was going to make this quick... Sword Man was a fool. He, if anyone, may have truly come alone. If so; No matter. One more head on the pikes outside Sin City.
Vile misses Sword Man with his Minimissiles attack.
Sword Man deflects Minimissiles from Vile.

Vile puts his guard down.

Sword Man slashes away a couple of the minimissles and quickly advances on the infamous maverick, igniting his sword and spinning his upper half like crazy. o O (Blast. Of all the mavericks, Vile must be the one to accept. A most unfortunate miscalculation, one very well might cost me dearly...) O o
Vile remains clear of Sword Man's Fire Spin.

Overdrive Ostrich isn't going anywhere, watching the flash and blur of the fight raging across the snow. He's surprised that Sword Man has managed so well so far agaisnt Vile himself, though Vile faring about the same..

Fusion Phoenix is circling over the fight, making no net movement, but not being a sitting target as he watches the fight.

Vile moving swiftly, with a speed almost unacceptable for a figure garbed in the bulk of his power armor, Vile dodges -under- the inferno spin, slowly lifting up onto his feet. As the chivalrous Robot Master twirls away, Vile simply rests on hand on his Vile Cannon, the energy it was charging up whistling with the power contained within... Before firing something completely different. Lancing out with a volley of lead, Vile mercilessly hammers Sword Man's general direction with lead shots, slowly advancing on his feet, a curious object appearing in his hand.
Vile strikes Sword Man with his Scatter Blaster attack.

Brown eyes peer out from a blur of snow, then vanish just as quickly. ...If nothing else, Gemini wants to be well-hidden when he makes that snapshot, and if he has to bend a little light on his approach, he doesn't mind wasting the energy. The wind dies again, and Gemini Man dives behind the same cover Magnet Man is using. Not saying a word to his brother, he checks to see if Magnet Man's aim is true. ...Looks good. Gemini Man looks down at his wrist, preparing to take his scan, then...pushes his brother on the back to prod him to fire.

Sword Man rocks back from the pounding shots, slamming into his chest and lower areas, narrowly sparing his anti-grav generators. He hunches over, sword planted for support. o O (This is futile.....retreat may be my only recourse, as dishonorable as the option is. Blast it all!)

Magnet Man holds his breath as he makes a few adjustments... he takes the environmental conditions into account before steadying his aim once more and pulling the trigger. Gemini knows what he's doing, hopefully...

A flash of plasma rockets outward...
Magnet Man strikes Overdrive Ostrich with his Arm Cannon attack.

Flash! And when the shot flashes, so does the holoscan. ...Nice shot.
You take a holographic scan of Overdrive Ostrich.

Vile continues forward, the object in his hand extending and igniting, a dull crimson blade stretching out from the hilt of the thing... A melee weapon? Vile's military pick! Looking like a miniature scythe, the energy blade focusing itself... Before a missile lances out behind Vile, catching his attention; And Sword Man recieves a reprieve, as Vile's head cranes coldly to the direction of the plasma...

It was -him-. Lone optic exploding with newfound ignition, Vile narrows his focus on Magnet Man, turning away from the wounded Sword Man. He had been waiting... For this.

Even for a reploid his size, the blast isn't insignificant. Overdrive is blindsided by the plasma burst, knocked from his feet into the snow. "The hell?!?" comes from the snowbank beside Muon as Overdrive rises like an avenging angel. "Who the--??" He leaps on top of the snow, his large feet helping him run on the soft surface like snowshoes as he dashes in the direction of Magnet Man's sniper nest. "Whadda you think yer doin'??"

Gemini Man blinks. Magnet Man was on target, but his shot almost missed.... he scans his databanks, checking to see if the scan is on file. Good. That will do. Time to sound the retreat, and... He looks up. Criminey, Vile was perceptive.

Sword Man curses as he finds himself unable to right himself. It appears the attack did NOT spare his generators, compromising them slightly. He looks up and waits for the enevitable death blow when all of a sudden, a missle streaks out from the clearing. Sword Man curses as the honor of the duel is compromised and his brothers' cover blown. o O (We must leave now, lest I put my brothers at any more risk than they already are.) "You have won, Sir Vile, but unfortunately for the both of us, your victory shall go without spoils. WIth that, he sprints as fast as possible towards Magnet and Gemini's position, attempting to keep his upper half supported, cursing his luck and dishonor.

[Radio: (A) Masters] Gemini Man transmits, "All right, secure channel be damned: RUN, you RUBES!"

Magnet Man grahs, looking over his shoulder at Gemini with alarm. They need to beat feat. Like, /now/.

Sword Man retreats from the area swiftly, leaving him open to pursuit or parting shots from Fusion Phoenix, Overdrive Ostrich, Vile, Maverick Heavy Ride Armor , and Magnet Man.

Gemini Man ...just...bolts. Magnet Man will catch up. Or at least he'd better...

Gemini Man retreats from the area swiftly, leaving him open to pursuit or parting shots from Fusion Phoenix, Overdrive Ostrich, Maverick Heavy Ride Armor , and Magnet Man.

Fusion Phoenix continues to watch the fight from above, radioing in a running comentary.

Magnet Man jerks his head up as Sword begins to run toward him. His eyes are drawn inexorably toward Vile. Overdrive. Vile. Sword is running. Oh, damn. Damn damn damn. He's slowly beginning to panic, and jerks out of hiding. He starts running like hell, quickly overtaking Gemini in his haste to get away from his angel of death. "IthinkIcanIthinkIcanIthinkIcanIthinkIcan..."

Magnet Man retreats from the area swiftly, leaving him open to pursuit or parting shots from Fusion Phoenix, Overdrive Ostrich, and Maverick Heavy Ride Armor .

Overdrive Ostrich dashes after Magnet Man, waving one arm in the air. "Come back 'ere, you coward!!" he yells, taking a moment to aim and firing a reply to the sniper shot he took a moment before.

Overdrive Ostrich strikes Magnet Man with his Crescent Slicer attack.

Coward? In a sense. But Magnet Man hadn't meant to fight in the first place. In response to Overdrive's shout, he looks over his shoulder for a brief shouted "Sorry!" Unfortunately, his apology is cut short when Overdrive's parting shot slams into his face, throwing him backward and into a tumble in the snow. Magnet groans and staggers to his feet, again taking off toward Anchorage. Gotta get home, gotta get home...

As Magnet Man rushes off, Vile simply narrows his eyes, his bulky frame slowly flickering out of view... And, without a pilot, the Goliath roars to life. As it powers up with a vicious scream of hydraulics and power conduits, it begins to dash -after- Magnet Man, it's pilot blinking silently into it's cockpit. In hot pursuit of Magnet Man, the Maverick General locks his Vile Cannon on him, determined not to let him go... And apparently out to make GOOD on his promise as he fires out a massive blue burst of energy. The magnetic shot races towards the fleeing Robot Master, before exploding into dozens upon dozens of smaller plasma particles... These moving even FASTER.

Maverick Heavy Ride Armor [Goliath] strikes Magnet Man with its Magnetic Scatterblast attack.

Magnet Man is temporarily disoriented by Maverick Heavy Ride Armor [Goliath]'s Magnetic Scatterblast attack.

How ironic, that the master of magnetism is himself caught in a magnetic field. Staggering forward, he frantically attempts to set up a reverse-polarity field, but in his panic only manages to mangle the fields already in existence. He's stuck, hanging there an inch or two above the ground, casting terror-filled glances toward the Goliath. Ohmanohmanohman.

Overdrive Ostrich doesn't give up the pursuit easily, accelerating over the nice, level tundra in pursuit -- his favored terrain, after all -- as the blue blast envelops Magnet Man from the side. Overdrive skids to a halt, sending a massive spray of snow into the air.

Fusion Phoenix folows the changing locus of the battle, above the players in this little play. He also radios local authorites of their shift, in case they move into a populated area.

Gemini Man suddenly hears the crack of a multi-armed attack from behind him. He keeps running as the shot hits Magnet Man, and keeps running... and suddenly notices that he's lost the Magnet Master somewhere behind him. He glances over his shoulder, and sees Vile looming toward the stunned Magnet Man. Of course, Gemini ponders simply escaping, but... he owed this one. Though he still turns and runs...something materializes behind Vile, with a neat, high, whistle, and a teleport effect.

You project a holographic image of Blues.
Blues has arrived.

*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*

Slowing down as it encroaches on it's target, the tremendous Goliath leaving a trail of footprints feet deep from it's horrifying weight bears in on Magnet Man, it's pilot finally ready to claim some retribution on Magnet Man. Stopping feet from his stunned target, Vile... Does something unexpected. Rising out of the cockpit, Vile spares a moment to glare down at Magnet Man with one burning optic, with an object in his hand...

A small box, ironically similar to one which Magnet Man gave to h--... It's the same one.

Leaping down from the Goliath, Vile plods through the powder, the box held tightly in his grip. Within seconds he is standing before the fallen Magnet Man. "Remember... this? I believe that I'm going to... return it."

Clasping the box tightly in his clenched fist, Vile outstretches his other hand, grabbing Magnet Man by the head and lifting him up into the air... Before slamming his hand - and the box - right down his throat with a horribly violent force. Literally. Forcing the gauntlet of his power armor right down the Robot Master's mouth and straight down, Vile's eye floats beneath the atrocity he is commiting, carried out with a wanton ignorance of the parts he might damage. But odds are... Magnet Man will be rather messed up by this.

And then... Blues. He could have -guessed-. Turning back with a mock interest in the hologram, Vile releases the wedding ring, before tearing his fist out, as horribly painful as when he put it -in-. Releasing him, the Maverick General slowly turns, staring at Blues. "Well, well..."

oO(I kill you. I f*kking kill you,)Oo thinks the hologram at his counterpart, not at all pleased with being today's new distraction. Still, he readies the imaginary buster, thanking the fates for the visor that covered, in this case, whatever eyes were actually beneath it, which at the moment were squinting in preparation of oncoming pain. "I was hoping I could take winner," says the holoBlues, smirking. "I'm glad it's you." Meanwhile, while Vile has at least turned, Gemini rushes back to Magnet Man. He offers him an urgent hand, and tries to pull him free of the interference.

[OOC] Overdrive Ostrich says, "Your hologram is independantly intelligent?"
[OOC] Gemini Man says, "Yes."
[OOC] Overdrive Ostrich says, "Duuuuude."

Fusion Phoenix watches Vile's brutality calmly, but as the "Protoman" arrives, he sends off another transmission.

His eyes abnormally wide the entire time, Magnet Man can only emit a sort of strangled choke as Vile "returns" his Christmas gift. So much for Christmas cheer! His voicebox is all but shattered by Vile's brutality, not to mention his jaw broken. As Gemini moves to pull him away from the distracted Vile, he staggers against his brother. As he can't speak, now, he simply begins to take off in a direction opposite Vile, staggering through the snow. He has to get /away/.

Overdrive Ostrich turns to face Blues as he teleports in, but glances back at the RM pair as Gemini helps Magnet Man escape.. He takes a heavy step toward them, apparently forgotten in the General's presence. *crunch* goes the snow.

Vile pauses as he glares at Blues, half-aware of the fleeing Magnet Man. Let them go. His only response to holoBlues? A growl. "... You... " One arm drenched in Magnet Man's spilled mechfluid, Vile simply turns to face him, the Vile Cannon whirring to take aim. "You should not have come... But no matter. Are you feeling 'better'?"

Fusion Phoenix watches with half a mind as he carries on a radio communication.

[Radio: (A) Masters] Magnet Man transmits, "Guys... uh... that evac?"

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "You need it again>"

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "Hey, Tron, you busy?"

[Radio: (A) Masters] Magnet Man transmits, "I'm... sorta beat up. A little."

Gemini Man leans Magnet Man against him as best he can... dragging him aside and off the battlefield, muttering incoherently in irritation at Vile's unexpected arrival.

Blues is smug. Well, he had Vile's attention... (pity he didn't have Protoman's Buster to back this bravado...) "Absolutely. Nice job, by the way." He gestures to the mess on Vile's arm. "Doesn't look like you got much excercise out of it. Hoping you have some energy left?" His arm cannon, for what it's worth, begins to charge.

Gemini Man retreats from the area swiftly, leaving him open to pursuit or parting shots from Fusion Phoenix, Overdrive Ostrich, Vile, Maverick Heavy Ride Armor , and Magnet Man.

Fusion Phoenix would take a shot at the fleeing Masters, but he isn't feeling mean today.

Vile steps back a bit, as if accepting the challenge. Shouldering his Vile Shield, the Maverick General holds position, as if ready to defend against Blues' next attack... On the defensive, completely. He would counter-attack, then.

Vile clasps his thick blue gauntlet around your neck, the tendions straining as his grasp tightens. "For your excellent RP... You shall die. But first, as a last meal, you get a cookie."

Overdrive Ostrich takes off after Gemini and Mags again, leaving behind Vile and "Blues". Not his fight, been blasted by that protobuster before... No thanks, not today....

[Radio: (A) Masters] Pirate Princess Tron Bonne transmits, "I'm on my way, boys!"

[Radio: (A) Masters] Fire Man yawns into his radio. "Right. Who's up for blowing stuff up? Or are you already making a mess?"

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "We're going to pull some nuts out of the fire right now..."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Magnet Man transmits, "Uh... yeah. Um."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Fire Man transmits, "Right. Well, I need to do that little job Enker gave me, so let me know when the pickup's done."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "Roger."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Fire Man transmits, "Oh, and anybody know where we can find some liquid Nitrogen?"

[Radio: (A) Masters] Gemini Man transmits, "Annnnytime, guys..."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "What part of we just lifted off did you not understand?"

[Radio: (A) Masters] Fire Man transmits, "Yeah, Doublemint Clones - give 'em time."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Pirate Princess Tron Bonne transmits, "Hold on! We're on the way! The Globe is pretty /BIG/, yannow! ...not that it's that big from the Gesellschaft's Engines!"

Bonne Airship [Gesellschaft] arrives from the Sky Above Western Canada.
Bonne Airship [Gesellschaft has arrived.

Gemini Man tries to right Magnet Man to his feet, hoping the evac shows up soon...

Blues raises his gun, and aims it at the general. Suddenly, the rush of an oncoming Master transport. oO(Thank Wily.)Oo Well, it WOULD make sense for Protoman to blink out...and, secretly, very relieved, he does.

You turn off your holographic projection of Blues.
Blues has left.

Vile scowls a bit, turning to watch the Robot Masters depart... He'd get them later. Anger. Rage. Before he and goliath blink out. Bye.
Vile has left.

Overdrive Ostrich gapes at the huge craft swinging overhead, giving him pause in his pursuit..

From on high, a massive shape suddenly bursts down from the clouds... launching downward from the clouds...

...The Gesellschaft...

It looms ominously downward as a few flights of Drache begin to launch from it's open hangar bay. They launch downward... even as weapon systems come online to send the Mavericks running back into the distance. The Draches lower, doors flung open near the Robot Masters. The Voice of Tron /BOOMS/ over the area!

"Hey, Boys! I'm... Heeeeeere!"

Fusion Phoenix nods as Protoman and Vile blink out, and smiles as the Masters leave without causing major damage. As the airship decends, he prudently keeps his distance.

Overdrive Ostrich has disconnected.

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "Everyone Out Of The Pool."

With the cavalry having arrived, Magnet Man staggers away from Gemini, waving his arms up at the Gesellschaft franticly. He needs to get that, uh, unfortunate wound of his fixed. At the soonest opportunity he rushes toward the Draches, diving in. It's not like the Mavericks would stick around with the Gesellschaft here now, but.. you can never be too sure.

Gemini Man climbs into the craft himself. Oddly enough, there isn't a scratch on him, but Magnet Man looks scrapped, and it seems as if Sword Man's found his own way home.

Bonne Airship [Gesellschaft]

The bridge of the Gesellschaft is a wide open command center with a sweeping view of the world outside. The central control area is a circular trench of stations where the Servbots man their positions, with piloting, engine, and weapons stations. Within this there is a raised platform with a walkway and another tier above that. Jutting from this tier is the captain's position, dominated by a great wooden wheel. The Bonne's smiling robotic skull set on the wheel housing to watch over the command center. To either side of the forward Servbot stations are a pair of hemispherical navigation displays.

Corridors lead back from the bridge, leading to many other parts of the massive craft. The main one of these being the Forward Hangar Bay. Situated in the 'mouth' area of the Gesellschaft, the 'teeth' slide open vertically to disgorge the flights of Drache that are situated in fighter bays across the backs and sides of the hangar bay. Several large, square hatches on the hangar bay's deck are clearly marked with red danger signs, the locations from which the Bonne Ride Armors are launched. Contents:

Magnet Man has arrived.

Magnet Man isn't so much 'trashed' as his jaw is broken and there's a pretty neat cut about even with his forehead. He seems to be walking fine as he approaches his savior, if a little jittery, but doesn't speak at all. A trickle of mechfluid proceeding from his mouth might hint at the reason.

Outside:
The Drache bank back upward as they accept their passangers, rocketing upward and away back to the Gesellschaft. The Pilot, noticing a lot of the Mavericks gone... smirks to herself and then hurls the wheel of the great ship to the side. The Engines of the massive ship ignite, and it begins to launch for the horison with Drache flying pointguard for the massive ship.

Tron Bonne hmmms a moment at the wheel of the ship, standing on the bridge... "...Well... ...that was easy."

Heat Man sighs and looks at the others. "Easy...but ow. Tron, do you want to take a look at Magnet's head?"

Pirate Man nods, "Aye a little too easy, except for how one of our mates looks at thee moment.", he then looks to Gemini saying, "While ye appear unharmed, maybe ye can explain a little on what happened to ye and Magnet?

[Radio: (A) Masters] Magnet Man transmits, "Sorry, guys. My voice-box is busted, I think..."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "Oh, good...Vile?"

Tron Bonne blinks a moment and turns away, after setting the Gesellschaft back on cource for the Citadel. She turns and strides slowly out and to Magnet. "Of course." Tron flips out a medical Scanner, flipping it open and slowly scanning Magnet. Tron nods then at Pirate's words. "Yep... an explanation would be nice..." Tron slowly runs the scanner over Magnet

Tron Bonne takes out a medical scanner and scans Magnet Man.

[Radio: (A) Masters] Magnet Man transmits, "Uh... well.. yeah."

Gemini Man straightens up. His face twists into rage, and he balls a fist, SMASHING it into his opposite palm. He clenches his teeth. "The good news is, mission accomplished." He calms slightly. "Thanks for the bail," he says to the other Masters. "And I'm pretty sure Heat Man can explain what made Vile so upset. I don't think for one moment that Magnet would come up with a doozy like that wedding ring trick all on his own... What was it, Heat Man? Something about eating a bag of hell and dying?"

[Radio: (A) Masters] Cappella transmits, " IF you voice box is broken you wouldn't be speaking."

Tron Bonne looks to Gemini now, before studying her readings and wincing. "Your Voter is completely trashed..." Tron winces softly, then eyeing Heat and Gemini where they all stand on the Bridge and hmms softly. "...Nice stunt, that..." Tron... ...restrains a giggle.

[Radio: (A) Masters] Fire Man transmits, "The joys of built in comm systems, Red."

Magnet Man blinks as Gemini speaks, and steps past Tron, waving his arms back and forth. Thank Wily for built-in radios. Losing one's voicebox is only a temporary inconvenience, nowadays.

Heat Man looks like he wishes he could blush. Damn being an early model. "Well...yeah...the mecha Santa bombing was fun and my idea...but the ring was All Magnet. So were the flyers."

Pirate Man turns to Heat, "Aye it appears your little bit of holiday backfired and this may only be thee beginning. Since it Vile wee be talking about."

Outside: You enter the Sky Above Western Canada.
Outside: Sky Above Western Canada
Outside:

Heat Man says, "Hey, Enker told me to do it, too..."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Beta CO Heat Man transmits, "Fire, we've completed the pickup and are returning to base..."

Tron Bonne hmmms at everyond. "...So... .../what/ is going on? What Mission? What's going on?"

Gemini Man snickers. He throws a nod at Heat Man, and grins. It was a good joke....but, he harrumphs. "Minor comic mischief compared to what WE have in store..." His eyes narrow. "But, no more involving third parties in the plan," he says, tossing this statement toward Tron. "Sword Man almost COST us."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Fire Man transmits, "Alright. The Gesselschaft is a bit obvious for what I've got in mind. Let's switch over to the Stealth. We're headed for a series of raw ore mines in the Rocky Mountains."

Pirate Man shakes his head, "Well this trouble be over except for the repairs."

Tron Bonne hmmms and eyes Gemini and arches a fine brow slowly, and shrugs. "Whatever you say. I understand if It's stuff you can't share." Tron turns her gaze to Magnet. "I suggest some time in the Repair Chamber, unless you want to spend the night here... I'd have to whip up a new Voter for you, but you should be fine with only a little bit of time in the R-C." Tron then fishes out a small tool, leaning up and placing her hand to the back of Magnet's neck, softly pressing the tool to his armor there... ...and in a soft, gentle, numbing wave... Magnet's Pain Sensors all shut down. "That should make it easier." Tron drops back down to her heels, turning slowly to walk up to behind the wheel.

[Radio: (A) Masters] Magnet Man transmits, "Man.. Vile. He was, like... right /there/."

[Radio: (A) Masters] Pirate Princess Tron Bonne sniffs softly... "...I have a plan for /him/..."

Gemini Man turns and looks at Tron suddenly. "What plan?" He blinks. "Oh, serves us right if you don't tell, huh?"

[Radio: (A) Masters] Magnet Man transmits, "Sweet... lemme in on it when you're ready, Tron."

Heat Man nods to everyone, leaning back against a wall as he listens to his radio.

Magnet Man smiles faintly at Tron, though it's a little skewed with his broken jaw. He gives her a thumbs up, and then leans up against a wall, exhaling raggedly. Well... for being inches away from Vile's face, he's fared surprisingly well. And man, oh, man, is it going to be worth it...

Tron Bonne winks playfully to Gemini. "Got it in one... Remember... we /ARE/ your allies, Gem." Tron smiles softly to Gemini. "...I think we've proven our loyalty /many/ times over." Tron smiles. "If you /do/ need help, I'm always ready to assist!" Tron then turns her head to the controls and then gives the wheel a sharp turn! "Next Stop: Skull Citadel!"

Tron Bonne looks back as the pitch of the Gesellschaft's engines changes. "We're home, boys!"

Gemini Man looks up at Tron as she cheerfully speaks. And his mind starts to churn; his mouth twists up at the edge. Well, if she put it that way... "In that case...Tron... how are you at programming?"

Magnet Man's eyes widen slightly with sudden understanding. Ah-ha... good going, Gemini...

Tron Bonne looks back to Gemini, as she announces the arrival of the Gesellschaft back home in the Base. Tron arches a fine brow, giving a slow smirk. "Gemini... ...your looking at the Girl the Reprogrammed /Your/ Force Commander."

Magnet Man slams a fist into the opposite palm. Even better.
