History: During the times of the Great War, an Autobot force was placed in charge of guarding the passages that lead to the underground bases and Vector Sigma. Called the Deep Six, this group held an Autobot named Kickjack as a member. Known for fighting Decepticons with reckless abandon, Kickjack once "interrupted" a strategy meeting headed by Decepticon General Shockwave. Not taking kindly to having buildings dropped on him, Shockwave eventually took the opportunity to destroy the Autobot, pushing his broken body down a shaft that lead deep into the planet's core.
When the Matrix complex went temporarily offline, Maximal technicians rushed to repair it so that new Protoforms could be created. The first spark to be birthed from the Matrix anew had a very strong connection to a past life. Kitfox did not know anything about the Maximal world when he awoke. He does not remember who shot him, or what pushed him, but he does have a distinct memory of falling...
Needless to say, Magnaboss finds this to be a minor irritation.
Timeline: Kitfox comes on-line in the episode "What We Have Become." In "Dawn in the Golden Age," as a member of Maximal rebellion, he downloads old records from Vector Sigma and discovers more of his former life. He then discovers that Shockwave is the reason for his Autobot death. Shockwave puts him on a special assignment, to track the escaped spark of Starscream and lure the spark into a force-field box to capture it. Kitfox goes about his task with a good deal of zeal, but ultimately fails...instead, in "Light Our Darkest Hour," becoming a perminent vessel for the spark of the Decepticon ghost.
