Image: Eldred stands 25 feet tall, and as was typical in his day, has a very blocky and ineffcient design. His Autobot symbol is embossed left of center on his chest. (note: While on the "new" cybertron, Eldred was persuaded to wear a Maximal decal over his Autobot symbol. It is however worth noting that the decal would change to an Autobot symbol temporarily with friction.) In his other form, he a large (Think old powerbooks) clunky laptop, with the Autobot symbol embossd on his cover.

History: Eldred is old, very old. He has witnessed, and indeed participated in many of the events that shaped Cybertron as we know it.
Near the beginning of our recorded history, what we regard as our origins, Eldred knew A-3. They worked together for the freedom of all. When something happened, you coudl be sure Eldred was there. After the liberation, Eldred wandered Cybertron for many cycles, meeting the people, and learning all he could. He came to be known for his wisdom, and his fairness, and so would be called upon to arbitrate disputes, or help those in need. After a time, he began to grow weary of being alone, and the ache in his joints reminded him that even he might some day need someone to carry on when he had to leave. He set about gathering the components, and built quite a frame, but he lacked one thing: A spark. So, he made a pilgrimage to Vector Sigma. After quite a bit of discussion, it was agreed: Eldred would receive a spark in exchange for letting Vector Sigma make a copy of his entire memory, so that all that he had seen, and learned not be lost ever to those who sought it. So it was done, and eldred did call his "child" Evalina, for she was indeed a light in his life.
When the Great War started, he realized that he didn't wish to raise arms against any of his bretheren, so the two of them moved to one of the emergent Lunar base colonies. Their time was enjoyable, as it was largely free of the fighting which so consumed the rest of Cybertron. Unfortunatly it was not to last. Unicron struck, and consumed the very moon itself. Eldred was in sleep mode when it happened, but Evalina had woken in time to see the approaching doom, so she took up Eldred, and hurled him towards Cybertron. Alas, with so much force her arm joint gave under the strain, and Eldred spiraled away into space. The force of the throw jarred Eldred awake just in time for him to witness the consumption of the moon by Unicron. As his safety circuts prepared to shift him to stasis mode, he could only wonder if Evalina was still on the moon or not, but he feared the worst.
During the many cycles he was in space, another problem arose: Eldred had been designed to be a record keeper, not a space worker, and so lacked adequate Energon sheilding. As the years passed, the energy eroded many of his circuts, and made many of his subroutines unreliable. Also, his memory modules sustained severe weakening. Some great amount of time later, he was recovered during an energon salvage mission, and returned to Cybertron. The Cybertron he came back to was not the place he had been though. Where once tall, proud, liberated bots once stood, now roamed small, subdued beasts...

Roleplaying hints: Eldred is quite absent minded and will often either repeat himself, or forget what he was talking about. Until he rebuilt his daughter, he would always ask anyone he met if they knew of her, or her whereabouts. He quite often lapses into stories when nothing else is pressing, but his stories are usually ones that everyone has heard him tell a million times. If you like, think up about four titles, and when nothing else is happening, let the ST know you're going to tell the "Time I went to the 3rd layer of Cybertron and saw a strange routing system" story, or whatever you choose as a title...
He bears a deep, and abiding hatred of Unicron, but he has compassion for Unicronians, as he understands that it is not their fault where their sparks began.

Timeline: Eldred Cyrix is found and revived in the first episode, "Pantora's Box." He becomes a point of contention among the Maximal government, who want to find him and force him off Cybertron. He accompanies the Maximal group that travels into Autobot City in "Journey to Iacon." Rather than leave for planet Earth, he opts to stay in Autobot City, attempting to revive the sparks of both Evalina and the long-dormant Metroplex. Evalina is rebuilt and survives, but Eldred does not, as his experimentations with Metroplex are interrupted by a Unicronian invasion. Evalina takes shelter in Iacon, where she is not discovered until the third season, in "Enemy Lines," and then tells the story of her father.
