Merits: Indestructable Spark of Starscream, Supernatural, 15 pt.
Image: Starscream appears as a faded, floating spark. Occasionally, he can manifest as the shadow of his Decepticon body, in a pale, spectre form, but he typically can only evoke this "ghost" image in the mind of a Decepticon who knew him in life. As a ghost, he is a pure, translucent white, with the Decepticon-marked wings of a Seeker jet.
History: One of the first Decepticons manufactured for Megatron's army, Starscream was originally a military and scientific researcher, sent into space to explore foriegn planets and report on their climates and vulnerabilities. Eventually, he outgrew such peaceful pursuits, and worked his way up the Decepticon chain of command with a calculated series of brown-nosing and backs-stabbing. Eventually, he became Air Commander, placing him in charge of organizing the Decepticons' Seeker Jet forces and divising air tactics. He was considered second-in-command to Decepticon General Megatron, and he admired Megatron's leadership, even as he was constantly pushing from behind to overthrow the leader and take control of the Decepticon army for himself.
One of Starscream's manueverings went awry, however. When Megatron was nearly killed, Starscream pushed his broken body into space, and declared himself the new leader of the Decepticons. However, Megatron was discovered, and revitalized by the dark god Unicron. During Starscream's flamboyant coronation, the newly created Galvatron returned. Unwilling to put up with any more foolishness from his most well-established traitor, Galvatron destroyed Starscream in a single shot, leaving only his feet behind.
...Or so he thought. However, Starscream was soon to discover that, for some unexplained reason, his spirit could never be destroyed. Thus, as a soul without a body, he was forced to wander the universe. Eventually, "Starscream's Ghost" returned to Cybertron. Enlisting the help of a few of his Decepticon comrades, he worked to regain his body. At last, he begged aid from the Dark God himself. Unicron declared that he could offer Starscream what he asked, but only if Starscream would offer him the same. Starscream was asked to perform three labors in order to restore the Dark God. However, before attempting the third, he demanded this body first be restored. Unicron complied with this request...then Starscream made the mistake of attempting to betray him. Unicron removed Starscream from his new body, reducing him to a floating spark. As an added expression of his anger, he forced Starscream backward in time, and condemned him to an enterity of existance outside of the timestream. Now both indestructable and ageless, Starscream hurtled through space-time, experiencing the vastness of the universe all alone.
Some time in his travels, Starscream happened upon planet Earth during its prehistoric stage, and two small bands of unusual Cybertronians fighting skirmishes there. These battles, the Beast Wars, interested him enough to warrant his involvement. However, his attempt to take over the operations of the new Megatron summarily failed. Starscream rode this timestream into its future, and finally returned to Cybertron. Here, he discovered a world where the new races were only beginning to exist: the smaller, weaker, but undoubtedly more efficient Maximals and Predacons.
Manuevering as always to the top of the government brought Starscream more grief than he bargained for. He discovered Cybertron's ultimate secret, but before he could broadcast to all Cybertron that Shockwave was assuming the guise of the Maximal leader, he was, though at no simple task, apprehended and imprisoned. Starscream's unique situation intrigued Shockwave greatly. After creating a stabilization field to keep Starscream firmly in time, he set about discovering the source of the Air Commander's immortality. Results were inconclusive, but "Project X" was able to recreate the phenomenon, birthing the clone called Protoform X. Starscream, meanwhile, was kept in his force field prison, poked and prodded for hundreds of years before his most recent release...
Roleplaying hints: Starscream considers himself the rightful ruler of the universe, and his indestructability is merely evidence of that fact. He is excessively proud, proud enough to make simple mistakes. He is always looking for any possible advantage in a situation...anything to put him on the top where he belongs. Starscream dislikes being manhandled; he'd rather fire a gun than get in a fistfight. He is most comfortable in the air, and prefers to posess a body with flight capabilities.
Starscream speaks in a high-pitched screech, and uses haughty and superior language. He loses his temper easily, regressing into incoherent screaming when enraged. His millennia of isolation have driven him slightly over the edge, but, by in large, he is still the same Starscream, having learned no grand "lesson" about the value of keeping promises and not balking at any underhanded deed in order to get his way. Starscream is not quick to trust anyone, putting faith in allies only temporarily at best, and always with plans to betray them later. He is especially distrustful of females, who he considers either scheming or incompetant, with no spectrum in between.
Timeline: Starscream is set free from his Citadel prison during the first act of the "Secrets of Cybertron" Movie. He possesses the body of Predacon Subcommander Epitaph, which he uses to aid his escape. When discovered and nearly captured by Darkwave, he mistakes the Predacon for Soundwave, and follows his instructions until it seems as if he will be captured. He abandons Epitaph's body. Epitaph is imprisioned, but Starscream disappears to elsewhere on Cybertron. He later returns in "To Fall in the Fires," in command of Epitaph's body prior to the Predacon's demise. Shockwave assigns the Maximal Kitfox with the task of apprehending his escaped experiment. In "The Chrystalis," the Maximals and Predacons encounter Starscream again, but Kitfox's efforts to capture him are met with failure. As a show of good faith among Decepticons, Darkwave offers Starscream a new body. Plans to give him a Predacon body go sour, and, in the end, it is the abandoned frame of Kitfox he finally inhabits.
Quotes: "I am AIR COMMANDER STARSCREAM OF THE DECEPTICON BATTLE FLEET, and you will treat me with the RESPECT that I deserve!"
"I won't be imprisoned for long. Soon enough, I will rule Cybertron as I was always meant to do!"
Notes: As a spark, Starscream can at will possess any machine, having access (as Magnetism 5) to all of its abilities. In the case of a Cybertronian, he can infiltrate and possess so long as his Willpower is higher than that of his target. The hapless Cybertronian is unaware of what Starscream does with his body, unless Starscream releases part of his control to allow the original inhabitant of the body to act. Starscream cannot speak as a spark, but can speak if his full "ghost" manifests (in the presence of a Decepticon that knows him). He can also speak if he inhabits a speech-capable body or machine, but only speaks with his own voice.
As a spark, Starscream has the Dexterity rating above. When he possesses a body, any body, he adds three dice to that body's Dexterity pool, even if those three dice take the body's overall Dexterity rating above five.
The stats for using Starscream as a spark are provided to be used in any Beast Wars Chronicle which merits his involvement. His "trapped in time" status makes him an incredibly versatile "heavy" NPC for any game.

Spark Location: Center chest
Merits: Indestructable Spark of Starscream, Supernatural, 15 pt.
Flaws: No Vocal Apparatus (Conditional), Physical, 4 pt.
Vehicle Mode: Jet
History: Assigned to capture Starscream by attempting to lure him to his already fast and flight-capable body, the Maximal Kitfox succeeded...a bit too well. Starscream assumed Kitfox's body just as the original spark died. He settled in very comfortably, then discovered that he was trapped. Shockwave would have just as soon put the entire unit into imprisonment, but Darkwave convinced him that Starscream might still have use if confined to his original function: that of scientific research. Shockwave agreed, deciding it was time the former Air Commander aid him in doing the work that had been stumping Shockwave for hundreds of years. Thus, Starscream was assigned the task of attempting to discover reasons for his own existance: a job that included monitoring Project X, and aiding in the creation of his own cloned offspring. Trusting Starscream would attempt to manipulate his project to his own ends, Shockwave installed a few fail-safes. He limits Starscream's contact with the world outside of the Citadel and the research stations, and placed inside his new body a device which prevents him from speaking. Thus, Starscream can only speak if the device is activated or destroyed, and, when destroyed, it always regenerates...
Roleplaying hints: Starscream's pride is undiminished by his lack in stature. He spends little time in his beast mode, preferring to go directly from robot mode to vehicle mode and back. He has grown accustomed to being referred to as "Kitfox," as other researchers call him, but he will not deny his true identity if it is discovered. In fact, he insists upon it, despite the amounts of Maximals that refuse to believe him. Starscream is confident in his status as the fastest Cybertronian alive, and his immortal spark taxes his Maximal body to its limits. Kitfox's good looks, quiet brooding intelligence, and mysterious past attract Maximal women, which frustrates the Decepticon Seeker to no end, as he is more than uninterested in having a fan club. Kitfox/Starscream will remove or destroy the speech-inhibiting device if he feels he can communicate with someone without being watched, but he will only do so by means that he does not consider painful. So close to the top, yet so very far, Kitfox/Starscream knows he has some serious work to do before Cybertron belongs to him. For now, he has convinced himself his predicament is easily rectified, and he is only biding his time.
Timeline: In "Land of the Poisoned Skies," Starscream appears during the Prologue. He later weasels his way as a passenger aboard the crew of the Maximal "Renegade." More as our story develops...
Quotes: "I'm telling you, I AM the Ai--" [choke...gasp...]
[Unable to say anything.]
Notes: According to legend and current scientific knowledge, Starscream, like any of the immortal clones that come from him, can still be destroyed by a stake of raw energon through the core of his spark. However, it is needless to say that this theory has never been tested, and no one is sure of what will be the actual consequences.
Don't worry, LPS players. He's not designed to be defeatable.
