Image: Krakken is most often seen in his beast mode, a maroon-red lobster with a still organic-appearing shell. His lobster claws are highlighed with gold accents, and his optics are yellow. His more robotic legs and face have detailing in gold and bronze. In robot mode, Krakken has pearl-white joints on his arms and legs. His white and red face is still very much like his beast mode, with a pincer-like mouth. His maroon hands have four fingers, and his gun is taken from part of his beast mode tail. The rest of his tail splits apart to form his legs, which have knee-spikes borrowed from his lobster legs. The remaining legs tuck into his robot mode thighs, and his pincers drape over his back.
History: Krakken, beast of the sea, was a Predacon pit fighter with a serious attitude problem. As an Organic, he was skilled in bar-brawl-style hand-to-hand, and wasn't afraid to throw punches even out of the ring. When he heard that an underground Predacon group was seeking volunteers for a potentially dangerous Transmetal II process, he was definitely interested. The power to crush people with his brain, after all, could be a good combination with the power to crush with his fists. Looking around at the group of definite losers who had volunteered to be test subjects, Krakken was sure he'd make the best Transmetal II of any of them.
He was a little less certain when he saw the first test subject die screaming in the Transmetal II chamber. ...And less certain when he saw the second. After the third such demise, it would take someone with Krakken's guts to be the next volunteer. But, only slightly shaken, he stepped forward. Luckily, he survived the procedure. However, the fear inside him, too long suppressed, came bubbling to the surface. His mind was completely shattered, but his powers were great. He remained with the Revolutionaries, watching jealously as the Transmetal II Device worked its magic on several more fortunate Predacons.
Roleplaying hints: Everything frightens you. Everything. Any stray shadow lurking in the corner might be an old enemy looking for revenge. Skittish and shivering, sudden noises cause you to draw into your shell, and, often, make something explode. Krakken has little control of his Transmetal II abilities when he is upset, and will set off his Combust power at any little thing that startles him, friend or foe. He spends most of his time in beast mode, and speaks in a quiet little stutter. When Krakken is in his robot mode, it is either because he knows he is needed for combat, or he is trying to make a point.
Krakken understands the ways of bullies. He used to be one, and, though he is often frightened by mundane occurances, he can recognize when someone is intentionally trying to intimidate him. He thinks Epitaph is a phony, Stahldrache a loudmouth. He respects people who have fear in their sparks, because he believes that people who aren't afraid to show their fear are brave. Krakken is fascinated with the Transmetal II process, and with its more powerful subjects, particularly Stalker and Armageddon. If anyone is ever undergoing the procedure, it is a sure thing that Krakken will be in the room, watching intently. As he has said many times, he is merely waiting for them to die.
Quotes: "GAAAH!" [Ka-BOOM!!]
"I know... you're afraid. That's all right. There are a lot of things to be afraid of. I used to be brave...once."
[as a Transmetal II Device is hooked up onto a target] "...Sometimes...they die."
[approaching the very powerful TII Armageddon] "Are you like Epitaph now?"
Timeline: Krakken first appears in the episode "Guarding the Green," alongside his Revolutionary allies. On planet Earth, he is seriously injured in "Art of the Deal," not returning to action until the first episode of the third season. Upon the Predacons' return to Cybertron, he witnesses the TII Device as it works its magic on the rest of his team. He aids in freeing Megatron, and the battle at the Pit. When Armageddon becomes a Transmetal II, Krakken follows him around like a shadow. At last, he participates in the final battle at Unicron's head, where defeating a god helps him regain at least some of his lost courage.
