Image: Sellsword has a humanoid face and a helmet-like head, green accented with red. He has silver, four-fingered hands, and his robot body is green, red, and gold. His beast mode head rests on his chest: all scale-like features removed by Transmetallization and fused into solid green paneling. His beast mode is a harsh and angular lizard, with wheels riding on the upper halves of his shoulders. He flips up his long tail and extends the wheels to gain added speed for his vehicle mode. In robot mode, the tail flips up onto his back, and serves as a sheath for his steel spiraling drill-bit sword.

History: Protoformed with a variety of skills, especially piloting and weaponry, Sellsword was designed to be a fighter-for-hire and has been so all his life. Well-known in the mercenary circuits, Sellsword spent most of his time in mixed sectors, and would work for any Maximal or Predacon that could cough up credits. During their recruiting sessons after the loss of their Transmetal II driver, he was hired on by Upgrade to fill some gaps in the Revolutionaries' lineup. His initial fee: Transmetallization...with other benefits to follow.

Roleplaying hints: Be the best at everything you try. It shouldn't be too hard: usually, you are already. Sellsword is a braggart; he charges for his services because he's just that useful, and no one can convince him otherwise. Sellsword is fully capable, and certainly not afraid, of killing a standing target. After all, that's what the drill sword is for, and he is intensely protective of his custom weapon. He carries an energon knife as a holdout for those rare times when his sword is broken or dropped; anyone who causes him to lose his favorite blade is sure to feel the sting of the toxic knife.
Sellsword monitors his superiors carefully, ultimately preferring those who have a sense of fun. He argues when given orders he dislikes by those who have him under contract, which can sometimes get him in trouble. He loves to participate in or watch a good fight, and he's always willing to gamble away his hard-earned paycheck. In addition, he's a flirt, certain that his marketable skills make him a winner among the female population. He's enough of a jerk that he's gotten more than used to being turned down, but that never stops him from trying.

Quotes: "Sure, I can do that for you, commander, but it's gonna cost you extra."
"Not bad... for a rookie."
[betting on a fight with a femme] "Tell you what; I'll go double with ya, but if you lose, you gotta provide a favor."

Timeline: Sellsword is among the Revolutionaries who lead the attack on Rhinox's in "Guarding the Green." Captured then, he leads several Maximals across the Predacon border in "Running the Gauntlet," and gives them over to Revolutionary hands. He begins a short-lived romance with the turncoat Stalker, but is dumped in favor of Tarantulas midway through the second season, when he accompanies the Revolutionaries to planet Earth as fighter and helmsman.

Weapon Notes: Sellsword has paid an extra point for his Drill-bit sword, which he uses as a killing weapon, not a samurai weapon. In his custom version, spikes flip out from the blade after it has penetrated a target. If a single strike with the weapon is successful, Sellsword can make a Strength roll to pull the weapon out, doing an amount of damage equal to the successes on this roll, plus two dice. The target is entitled to a soak, of course, but may not use Armor.

Image: Sellsword's face has changed somewhat, becoming more like a lizard's, with brilliant green scales and yellow optics with slitted pupils. His hands, now gold, are adorned with long blades that flip out when needed. His tail still locks up onto his back, but his legs are longer, giving his robot body a sleek appearance. His green and gold paneling has red accents, and in beast mode, some navy blue. His Transmetal II Beast Mode is more organic and fluid than his Transmetal Beast Mode, with less angles, and layers of shining metal scales.

History: After returning to Cybertron, Sellsword is instrumental in recruiting Medusa to the Revolutionaries' team, in the sense that he wants a female like that in the group, pronto. He is made into a Transmetal II very shortly thereafter.

Roleplaying hints: Sellsword has gotten a little smoother, and a little better-looking, two qualities that do nothing but increase his already powerful ego. He is still a flirt, but now that the Revolutionaries are gaining fame, he does so with much greater success. He is now just as likely to show off his Transmetal II abilities as his custom sword, using Shining to augment his Handblades, sword, or Speed. Better than ever, and always the best.

Quotes: "This Revolution is the best party ever!"
"You must see something in that guy. A lot of us are handsome, sweetheart."

Timeline: Like many of his Revolutionary counterparts, Sellsword becomes a Transmetal II during the episode "Lockdown." He aids the Revolutionaries throughout the last two seasons, becoming a favorite of now-Subcommander Stahldrache in particular. After the episode "Under the New Order," thanks to the Predacons' new recruiting programs, he becomes a favorite among the females as well. At the end of the series, Stahldrache, as commander, chooses Sellsword as his helmsman.
