Spark Location: Solarplexus
Flaw: Intolerance (Tyranny), Mental, 1 pt.
Device: Cable Launcher
Image: Shadowraith's beast mode is a normal-size, black gryphon. His robot mode is call and fairly lightly built. He is light for a Deluxe-class Cybertron, and can fly using his wings in his robot mode. His coloration in robot mode is mostly black, with shades of deep gray for trim. His optics are pale and bluish, but they don't cast much noticable light. His right shoulder has a mounted fusion rifle, which is normally stored folded over on his back. When it flips to the front, he can hold it like a normal rifle, though it is still connected by heavy wires on his shoulder. This freedom of movement allows him to snipe better, because he can hold the attached gun up to his eyes. He also has a cable whip mounted in his left arm/shoulder, which functions as a combination whip and cable launcher. Normally, it is visible as a cable hanging from his left shoulder to his left wrist, attached to a cresent-shaped blade on the wrist and feeding into storage subspace in his torso. When using the weapon as a whip, Shadowraith lets out a length of the cable and holds the cable in his hand, then spins the blade end at high speeds to strike or disarm his opponent. As a cable launcher, the blade can be fired directly from his wrist. The retractable claws from his beast mode hind legs are on his hands in robot mode.
History: Shadowraith was protoformed on Cybertron as a Maximal. He was more aggressive than most Maximals, so he joined the military in the hopes of blowing off his combatative tendancies legally. While there, he studied combat extensively, and became an expert sniper and master of chain combat. Unfortunately, he was so devoted to his combat training that he paid little attention to the world around him, and learned relatively little of Cybertron. When he began field training in mock combat, he also developed a very bad habit. He usually ignored his commander in combat situations, figuring he knew what do to better than anyone else. This habit made him ill-suited to military work, where disobeying one's commander could cost the lives of others.
Shadowraith was assigned to a relatively minor exploration vessel, the White Star, to get him away from the rigid military lifestyle. His official position was "security officer," but he was also drafted to serve as the pilot. He set off after a fairly cursory flight training, which left him able to pilot the White Star in routine situations but unable to respond well to emergencies. When a freak meteor shower hit the ship, he was totally unable to stop the ship from crashing on a very unusual world...
Roleplaying hints: Nobody knows how you should fight better than you do. Commanders are all well and good off the battlefield, but that doesn't mean they know anything about real combat. Try to surprise enemies, even once battle has begun; flanking maneuvers, possibly flight-aided, are recommended. Tyranny is the ultimate abuse of power, and tyrants should be treated accordingly. Once someone is a known tyrant or despot, they should they should find themselves looking down the barrel of your fusion rifle: for a moment, anyway. Enemy leaders are preferred targets, because the soldiers may or may not actually want to fight. If the leader is dropped, it could save massive amounts of combat. You have no idea why others insist on talking so much; it seems to be mostly pointless chatter, anyway. You generally only speak when you have a good reason, which may or may not include a commander's direct order. Stealth is key; there is no reason for your enemies to know of you until you want them to. You attempt to hush noisy companions, or simply travel alone.
Timeline: Shadowraith arrives on Tristam with the crew of the White Star in Episode One: "A Fallen Star."
