The Maximals receive a radio message from Clockwork, who is piloting the ship above. The graveyard is on the move, and he asks permission to strafe the unholy ground with the ship's cannons. While he is attacking the undead creatures from above, the Maximals continue to explore the dungeon. Shadowraith attempts to take the death knight's sword, but Paladyne takes it away, feeling that it is probably an evil artifact. Continuing to explore the room, the Maximals find a secret door hidden in the floor. The trap door is only big enough for a smaller Maximal or one of the adventurers to enter. Shadowraith volunteers to climb down into the dark hole and brave its depths.
At the bottom, Shadowraith discovers a small room with…a computer. The computer is a fairly recent construction, and seems to be powered by runes drawn on the side: a mix of magic and technology. Radio frequencies are jammed in the computer's vicinity, but energon is also dampened. Shadowraith calls up into the tunnel, and Scythe crawls down, using his personal computer to download information from the clearly Predacon machine. He discovers that the computer is filled with strange procedures, such as how to create unholy creatures like the ones the Maximals fought upstairs.
A tunnel from the secret room leads deep into the underground. However, its construction suggests that it was deliberately set up as a go between from one point to another. Metal walls are trapped with doors that cause Shadowraith, Nikki, and Brash to be seperated in the tunnels; it takes Scythe to disarm the doors and open the tunnel further. Trenek is posted guard at the tunnel entrance, just outside the stairs, while Estrella attempts to understand the evil runes that make the computer function. While the groups are exploring the long hallway, Clockwork radios the main unit... the underground Maximals are jammed out of contact, but Clockwork is reading the Predacon signature again! Shadowraith and Scythe step deeper into the long tunnel, and they are confronted with the disembodied voice of the very tiny Predacon. In beast mode, Morynth can easily hide in the tunnel's weak artificial light, and, though the Maximals attempt to fire on her, they miss their target. She shows herself and transforms, but immediately changes back when they both fire upon her. When the Predacon escapes, Scythe steps far enough out of the jamming zone to regain use of his radio. He tells Paladyne and Rift that the tunnel continues to the south, then branches out into areas that Morynth marks as "temple" and "lair." The ship takes off with the other Maximals, and Paladyne and Skystrike attempt to head Morynth off on the other side. They find her personal lair, filled with all manner of mad science and wizardry, including a sleeping undead dragon that they race past in order to find the other side of the tunnel. Skystrike attacks the Predacon while they are both still in beast mode, and a tussle ensues as Mornyth transforms and uses her own sword to block Skystrike's robot mode attacks. Paladyne, however, pulls Skystrike out of combat. Trying to prevent further violence, he picks the small Predacon up and carries her out of the tunnel, operating despite damage from her eye-mounted lasers.
