Image: Tarantulas is spider-like even in his robot mode, as he has large pinchers for hands, and four spider's legs protruding from either arm. His body is mainly purple/magenta in color, with yellow markings on the back and forearms. His head is rounded, helmet-shaped, with mandibles over the mouth, and yellow optics joined in a straight line which may give the false appearance of a lack of division between them. In beast mode, he is a purple, nine-eyed spider (this number being frequently miscounted by Maximal attackers). His motions are exaggeratedly smooth: creepy and unpleasant to watch.
History: You were party to great knowledge on Cybertron, being one of the Unicronian "Predacons" working with the Tripredicus Council. At Tripredicus's command, you accepted an infiltration mission. You would offer your scientific skills to Megatron, a rogue Predacon general, to discover the extent and intent of his mission to win Cybertron for the Predacons. Megatron would never know that Lieutenant Tarantulas of the Predacon Secret Police would be the one entrusted with his most delicate knowledge, and, in fact, his very success. However, there was a mistake; Megatron's ship crashed on a planet created by hostile alien life formsaliens that hate members of your particular race. You have lost contact with your superiors on Cybertron. Now, you must work carefully to ensure that neither alliance gets the upper hand in the Beast Wars, while searching for a way to escape from this terrible rock and the aliens that permeate the planet's pores.
Roleplaying hints: Be secretive and sneaky. Speak in a low, scratchy voice, and chuckle to yourself a lot when others don't understand what's going on. You know everything. They know nothing about you. Lie about your methods and intentions purely for sport. Megatron must know you're hiding something, but, he can't know what, and, even if he did know, there's no way he could prove it. He would lose your abilities, and he needs them. In fact, your knowledge of science and procedures is so invaluable, that you could get away with almost any insubordination. However, treachery in the open is not as fun as treachery beneath the surface. You love being a spider, because you can trap people in your web, physically, mentally, and situationally.
Your need for a confidant on this frankly lonely mission persuaded you to create Blackarachnia. She is lovely, as you assumed she would be, but impossible to subjugate. A shameful loss...though you still can't help feeling a little tingly when she catches your eye.
Tarantulas's favorite sins are lust and gluttony; sucking blood is a favorite passion.
Quotes: "Just as I calculated!"
"Oh, dear, you've found me out..." [chuckle] "Now, what exactly are you going to do about it?"
[Chuckle, Chuckle, Cackle...]
Timeline: Tarantulas stays with the Predacons, despite his conflicting loyalties. In the episode "Double Jeopardy," he programs Blackarachnia. In "Other Voices," at the end of the season, he conspires to leave the planet. Blackarachnia discovers his plans and attempts to Download knowledge from his personal files, losing herself in a powerful subroutine. Tarantulas uses the subroutine to implant parts of his mind in Blackarachnia's; the two then gain access to each other's files. Tarantulas's body is nearly destroyed at the end of the season.
Note: Tarantulas's varying goals and multilayered Demeanor make his Nature hard to peg. The Deviant Nature may also work for this character. Play his Demeanor as Deviant, Conniver, or Conformist as situation dictates. Also note that Tarantulas is in many ways a character with previous experience, and difficult to create at starting level. Using the "Complete" sheet below is reccommended for most Season One scenarios.

Spark Location: Mid-center chest
Procedures: Refine Energon, Decode Communications, Reprogram Alliance
Devices: Cable Launcher
Mechanism Notes: Tarantulas's drone force is comprised of small, spider-shaped atomatons with large lights for "faces" and Tarantulas's personal brand marked on the side. These drones are sometimes called Arachnoids. They have no Mechanisms of their own other than the innate drone ability to relay video to their creator. They are mainly used for spying on both sides of the conflict, and using repair knowledge added to them by their creator to salvage Tarantulas should he be injured beyond his ability to revive himself. Attributes: Dexterity 2, Strength 1.
Tarantulas can modify the tip of his right pincher into scientific/repair-based tools (drill, clamp...). He does not use Demolecularization to alter his size.
Tarantulas's Encoding subroutine is such that anyone attempting to Download his files is trapped in a virtual "Web" outside of his conciousness. Once he has trapped the victim, he can invade their mind as they attempted to invade his.

Image: In beast mode, Transmetal Tarantulas is a chrome spider with purple legs and a golden shell of a back. He has large, pronged "feelers" which become his legs and feet in his robot mode. His green spider eyes, now numbered eight, decorate his robot mode chest, above an abdomen rippled with "muscle." He now has hands instead of pinchers; they bear two fingers and a thumb. His helmet-like head is horned; the majority of his firepower is contained in two rounded shoulder structures. In vehicle mode, he is mainly a spider, but with two wheels.
History: Blackarachnia didn't want to aid in your revival after the earthshaking explosion, but, thanks to her folly at attempting to invade your files, she simply had no choice. The explosion had altered your body: you were Transmetal now, and stronger than ever before. You maintained a psychic link with Blackarachnia, so that she could never disobey you again. However, by threatening to destroy herself, she forced you out of her conciousness. You know she has an encoded file you could not access, and suspect it may be the contents of the Golden Disk, but you've lost your chance at getting the information...for now.
Your original Lair was destroyed in the explosion, but, you managed to fashion yourself a new one, complete with your old computer unit and an ample store of refined energon.
You have a growing suspicion about the aliens that attacked the planetthis planet, their planet...Earth... They know you're here, and they are not pleased.
Roleplaying hints: You no longer care for Blackarachnia at all. Her power over you, meager as it was, has worn off; you finally see her for the manipulative little witch she always was. The only pleasure you can possibly derive from her now is forcing her to your will, and that is, sadly, still difficult.
Your increased power has made you slightly cooler to the efforts of others. You regard Megatron as an equal or lesser, and not a superior officer. Ultimately, he is in your way, but you aid him so long as he aids you.
Slight paranoia about possible alien invasion has cracked Tarantulas, even a little bit more. You can laugh about it, while you shake on the inside. (You are, maybe, getting a little jumpy...?)
Quotes: "Must you interrupt me, Megatron? I've been engaged in important research on our new Transmetal bodies."
"This planet is doomed!"
"They hide like rats, these aliens..."
"Ah, this cavern would make a perfect Lair... ahhh... er... for all of us!"
Timeline: Tarantulas is revived in "Coming of the Fuzors." Shortly after, in "Tangled Web," he loses his link with Blackarachnia, and gains his new Lair. His role as a mole for Tripredicus is revealed to Megatron in "The Agenda," at the end of the third season.

Spark Location: Mid-center chest
Vechicle Mode: Motorcycle
Procedures: Refine Energon, Decode Communications, Jamming Frequency, Reprogram Alliance, Transmetallize, Store Identity, Optimize, Design Transwarp Core
Merits: None
Flaws: Enemy, Social, 5 pt.
Mechanism Notes: Tarantulas has now fit Claw weapons to his Arachnoid drones. Larger drones, silver velociraptors with laser eyes, built for "Cutting Edge," were destroyed, and not rebuilt.
History: At last, you discovered the very thing you needed... the ancient Decepticon ship itself: The Nemesis. It was deep within the ocean...just as you calculated. The perfect vessel with which to destroy the Maximals...and the Predacons...and return home to a gloriously pure Cybertron. Yes, it's ambitious, but, you're sure it will be worth it. To destroy the Autobots and Decepticons...and those aliens...you would do nearly anything.
Megatron, oddly enough, has accepted you back into his ranks, for now. Apparently, he can do very little without your scientific expertise. Just the way you like it. Naturally, you have not told him about your final plan, or about Nemesis.
Roleplaying hints: You know, deep down, time's running out. Prepare for the worst; they'll never take you alive!
Still, your flashes of terror are brief, and your calmness overriding. After all, you require drastic measures, and they're on their way, any time now. Just as soon as you complete the transwarp repairs on your lovely battleship.
Blackarachnia's joined the Maximals now; she'll have to be destroyed. So will Megatron, of course...and, all the rest.
Timeline: Tarantulas spends the better part of the final season repairing Nemesis in secret. He is accepted into Megatron's ranks in "Cutting Edge," and builds for Megatron's use a team of powerful velociraptor drones. In "Master Blaster," he commits his final act of treachery against Megatron, who informs him that he will no longer be tolerated. The vindictive Vok, having tracked the spider for some time, finally make their strike in "Other Victories," and destroy Tarantulas.
